Over 50 large-format videos from instructor Kevin Garry, Ph.D., including split-screens and close-ups of both hands.
Learning guitar is made fun with over 70 songs, including famous hits from artists such as Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, and Steve Miller. Songs are recorded live and hits even have multi-track full band accompaniment. Quick Easy Learning - Greetings! My daughter has been asking for guitar lessons. For her 11th Birthday, she received a small guitar as a present. I had purchased a guitar for myself many years ago with the best of intentions, but soon realized that private lessons were (1) expensive, and (2) difficult to fit in with work, school, life, etc. I recently downloaded this app and it is awesome! It's very straightforard and simple, hence Volume 1, but worth the cost. It has 182 lessons covering a ton of info. My daughter and I are now going through the lessons and learning to play together. The lesson presentations are very clear and easy to understand; and the embedded audio and video help demonstrate the correct way to achieve the lesson goals. I'm also impressed with the built-in tools (i.e., animated fret board, auto tuner, metronome, recorder, etc.) They are all very intuitive and easy to use. Granted, we won't be playing Hendrix anytime soon, but we're learning to play and having a blast!! Thanks eMedia…we'll be looking for the intermediate app and maybe finger style in the near future!
E media guitar - forget it. only for the ultimate beginner

Application Crashes on 10.12.6 - I was reviewing previous lessons and then the application suddenly quit. Now every time I restart, it quits immediately, even after logging out of my account, and logging back in. I have used this app to self teach guitar for several years, but then when Apple discontinued support for power pc apps, I stopped. I picked up this latest version recently via the App Store, and noticed that they added new lessons on rock guitar with better explanations, particularly power chords, and updated some of the music, which I really liked. I was really getting into it (lesson 89?) when it started crashing repeatedly. Need to fix the crash problem for higher ratings, since I can’t access the application anymore.

Way back on 2 August 2017 I reported on the Apple App Store that version 5.0.3 crashes every time I open it. It is December 12 2017. I am in MacOS 10.13.2, and the crashes still occur. Why aren’t there any updates to this software? Why doesn't this get fixed? Emedia needs to get their act together, or you are wasting your time with their software.
Why no free upgrade for Sierra users? - Why isn’t this being offered as a free upgrade?? I barely got to use it before MacOS upgraded to Sierra and after finally updating the program to be used with Sierra they are asking me for another 49.99.
Not Compatible With Sierra - I purchased this package back in September of 2016. It worked for a couple of weeks, then I upgraded to Sierra. Now I have dead software with a “don’t” symbol over it. I’ve put in at least 2 tickets with zero results. Why Apple is allowing these guys to continue to sell a product that DOESN”T WORK is a mystery. UPDATE: I was amazed when the update was released (5.0.3). I quickly updated my copy and it worked … for a short time. After Apple updated my OS a couple times, (I’m currently on 10.12.6), this software stopped working again. Now, it launches to the start-up screen and freezes with the message “Loading” . So, I’m done with eMedia. I’ll never buy anything from them again and I’ll make sure to warn my friends to stay away. They don’t support Mac, it’s just that simple. The update to 5.0.3 took a year to release and it was just as unstable as the previous version. That’s not support. If you’re still not convinced, well, I warned you.
