A winmail.dat file is an email from Microsoft Outlook that can not be read by other email applications. It needs to be converted for the content to be accessible.

Letter Opener does that with a simple double-click!

With 10 years experience (and a special dislike for winmail.dat files) we made sure that working together with Microsoft Outlook and Windows users can be simple and seamless.

- Open winmail.dat and MSG files and convert Microsoft Outlook appointments, notes, contacts etc. to macOS native formats.

- Convert Microsoft XPS documents to Adobe PDF files

- Quickly view the contents of a Winmail.dat, MSG and XPS file with a tap on your space-bar via Quick Look

- Once extracted, files can be treated like any other file on your computer

Letter Opener speaks your language! It’s fully localized in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.

- Winmail.dat Premium: Access to attachments in winmail.dat files
- MSG Premium: Access to attachments in MSG files
- XPS Premium: Convert XPS files to PDF files
- File Extension Premium: Fix files with the wrong or no extension

The trial allows you to use all premium-features 14 days for free! After the trial period you can keep reading message text. The premium add-ons can conveniently be purchased individually.

A Great Tool For Opening the Occasional winmail.dat File - This app does exactly what I wanted. On rare occasions, I get a winmail.dat file attached to e-mail from a PC user. I save the attachment to my desktop, open it with this application, and boom ... I can open the attachment in the appropriate Mac application. It works great. Unlike some other reviewers, I do not want a Mail.app plugin. I don't want to install a Mail bundle (and the trouble that spells every time Apple updates Mail.app) that is always installed on my system for the few times I encounter winmail.dat files

Does nothing of value other than telling you to buy the full version. - Pretty sure the positive reviews for this were manufactured by the software company, as this application does nothing and simply displays “buy the pro version” for it to actually do anything.

letter opener - This works perfectly for reading winmail.dat files on my MAC. I'd give it 5 stars if I didn;'t have to re-dpwnload it and reinstall every once in a while.

Works fine, now stop asking for reviews - The app works find, opening those annoying windows.dat files- the main bug is it pesters and forces you to come write a review for it. If not for that constant, unending begging, I might have given it five stars.
