YOU CAN STOP YOUR RESEARCH, YOU FOUND THE BEST OPTION. - I DID A LOT … and i mean A LOT of research on VPNS and the safest one to pick… expecially if you’re …. errr… doing things you might not want the law to find out about. NordVPN is not part of the 5, 9 or 14 eyes… which means they don’t just give over what little information they save about you if asked. They also don’t keep logs, the only information they log is information for their own research to make the program work well. (for example if there were errors etc.) Not only this BUT nordVPN offers features no other VPN does such as P2P and OnionOverVPN Which make finding out who you are even more impossible than just running the normal VPN. ALSO, they have sooooo many different servers … the list is probably the longest any VPN offers. They also offer a kill switch… which means if for some reason the VPN fails while on the internet, internet access will drop … meaning you won’t accidently show who you are. THEN ON TOP OF ALL THAT it’s crazy fast, you honestly can’t even tell you’re using a VPN. Most VPN’s I have tried are really slow or stop working after 15-20 minutes and you have to restart them. NOT THIS ONE THOUGH… I have never had it freeze up, forcing me to research, had the kill switch do it’s thing, or had my internet be slowed down at all. Hands down … it’s the best! BE SMART AND CHOOSE THIS ONE!

Terrible product, guarantee is bs, don’t buy - I highly recommend avoiding Nord VPN. Here is my story. Hopefully it can help someone who is considering using this company in the future. I read several reviews that spoke highly of NordVPN so I decided to give them a try. They claim to have a 30 day money back guarantee. I had connectivity problems, and ridiculously slow speeds (like .05 mbps) for days. I filed 8 tickets with their support department. On each support request, they made me jump through hoops, taking screenshots, sending them log files, asking the same questions over and over. Two days before the end of the trial period, I emailed them and requested a cancellation Of course it took them more than 48 hours to get back to me. To add insult to injury the sent me the same step-1 troubleshooting email. I was livid. I responded to the email, at which time I was told that 1. my ISP was throttling VPN (which I already demonstrated to be false via screenshots) and 2. it was now too late for a refund since we'd passed the trial period. I did more research, and the company is a shell company in Panama. I didn't use a credit card (because who does with a VPN) so I have no recourse. Hopefully this story will help others chose a different VPN Provider than this crap.

Unstable and lacking features - The app keeps crashing, and the so called built in kill switch that isn't configurable doesn't work at all. The native client works much better.

Wow. - 7/21/2020…..Day 10….. 10 days without protection. I was talked into reinstalling and opening the NORDVPN app on my MacBook and again it took over my machine with connecting/reconnecting/connecting/reconnecting. I couldn’t stop it. Continuous popups asking me for my “keychain password”, which i’ve tried multiple times, which sends me into a death spiral of popup login requests. I’ve sacrificed 10 days of productivity because of this NORDVPN app. Went into my keychain password, deleted all NORDVPN lines, as directed by the robot help desk or someone like it. NO fix. I’ve been a happy NORDVPN user for the past year and a half. Suddenly the NORDVPN software hijacked my computer, connecting/reconnecting/connecting/reconnecting over and over again. It literally hijacked my computer and get this, there was no way out of the deadly loop inside this software!!! Kept asking for my keychain permission, which i gladly supplied, and it didn’t accept it. Tried my MacBook password for good measure and again, nothing. I’m running an older mac (High Sierra 10.13.1) and am ok if the new version of NORDVPN doesn’t support it. I’m fairly computer literate and went on the NORDVPN website FAQ’s section and followed e-v-e-r-y-thing. Went into the “terminal” section of my mac, ran both command lines recommended….. same problem of this software hijacking my machine and not connecting. Not only that, it took over my machine! Very scary in this day and age. IT’S WORKED FINE FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. I’VE UPDATED MY MAC SOFTWARE AS MUCH AS I CAN. IT’S A SOFTWARE ISSUE, PROBABLY A RESULT OF AN UPDATE. NO SUPRISES HERE. Let’s talk about customer support. If you can get ahold of a human from the NORDVPN live chat person let me know!! So I emailed customer service explaining my/their/our? permissions error with their updated NORDVPN software and kindly asked for a prorated refund for their “wonderful” 3 yr subscription. 7 days later, 7,,,, a customer service agent told me that’s what I agreed to when I agreed to the small print in the “user agreement”. Don’t fall for their glamorous advertising!!! If you’re running an older mac like mine beware. And hey NORDVPN, give me my prorated refund back and let’s go our seperate ways. UPDATE 7/20/2020 So now i get this email…. ""Hello. We're sorry to hear that your issue is still unresolved. Could you please update your review with the Ticket ID you’ve received from our customer support? We’ll check your inquiry and provide you with further assistance. Thank you. “ never, i mean never, has anyone given me a “ticket id” in my correspondence with NORDVPN….. see what i mean? it’s all my fault right? This is BS and all I want is a PRORATED REFUND

Easy interface, has improved but... - ...some of the older servers aparently are stale, resulting in some sites, most notably Google, to block traffic while using. Newer servers don't seem to have the same problem as they haven't been around long enough to get blacklisted, but if that's the case the old servers just need to be cleared out or assigned new IP addresses to keep them off the blacklists. Sometimes speed and dropped connections are an issue, but going to another country usually solves that (and anyway that tends to happen on lesser developed countries servers and ones at greater geographical distance) On the plus side, the interface is very easy to use and at least I didn't have to tinker with my VPN settings in my system settings; the app did everything for me. Great software just occasional issues with server blacklistings and weaker connections.
