Mirror for Samsung TV

Developer: AirBeamTV BV

Download Size: 12 MB - Download

Application to mirror the screen of your Mac to any Samsung Smart TV. No wires and no additional hardware needed! You can also stream individual video files from your Mac to your TV. Also, we included the option to watch one window on your Mac, and another window on your TV!

This works on any Samsung Smart TV from the 2012 models onward. Which model year do you have? You can see that by looking at the middle letter in your model type (on the back of your Samsung TV).

E = 2012
F = 2013
H = 2014
J = 2015
K = 2016
M = 2017
N = 2018
R = 2019
Q = QLED (supported)

For instance:

UE55_E_S8000 = 2012.
UE78_H_U8500L = 2014.

In using the app, there will be a couple of seconds of latency (usually between 1 and 3). So this mirroring is not suitable for gaming.

However, it is very suitable for watching movies, giving presentations, watching photos, and much more!

The quality of your experience will be dependent on the quality of your local network. Some tips to enhance the experience:

- Preferably, connect your TV by LAN cable to your router.
- Use a Wifi ac router. If you don't have one, then an "n" router.
- Try not to overload your wifi network by moving big files around while you are mirroring.

How the app works:
First, make sure that your Samsung TV is on the same local network and same subnet as your Mac. The TV should not be in screen mirroring mode, but just on "TV" Mode or any HDMI IN port.

After launching the app, you will see the app icon appearing in the top bar of your Mac and the app will look for your TV on the network. It will show your TV when it has found it. Now, you have two options:

Mirror your Mac Screen:
Use this option to put the screen of your Mac on TV. In source, you can select which screen (or attached monitor) you want to display on TV. If you are running multiple applications on your Mac, you can also select which application window you want to see on TV.

Enable Sound: check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need the additional (free) audio driver, which you can download here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio

Play Video File:
Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you want to play just the file on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.

Settings (the icon in the bottom right of the app): click here to request support from our 24/7 support staff. They usually respond within 2 hours on any query that you might have. If your question is technical, please also include the diagnostics information.

Limitations: Apple has HDCP DRM protection for playing iTunes movies. This means that screen mirroring is not possible when watching movies from iTunes.

When you like the app, please don't forget to give it a positive rating! Thanks in advance from the AirBeamTV development team!

Netflix access overseas - Having recently moved to Spain, I bought a wifi plan and a smart TV. I still had my US Netfilx account, and didn’t want to give it up because the Spanish Netflix catalogue is more limited and I’d have to pay for another account besides. I could have just resigned myself to watching on my laptop, but did some googling and found this app. The price was certainly lower than a new Netflix account and so I thought it worth a try. Insallation was simple enough, but the first time I tried the mirroring was totally scrambled and I couldn’t get sound. I emailed the diagnostic team and they got back to me surprisingly quickly, were very friendly and helpful - suggested that I install the AirbeamTV audio driver and then restart all my equipment. This totally worked, and so I’m enjoying US Newflix on my new TV - in Spain! The app delivers - and all for the price of month’s Netflix rather than a year!

Audio delay - This app would be a perfect 5 starts if it weren't for the audio delay. I purchased the app to watch shows that can only be displayed from my computer, the only problem is that the adio is about 2 seconds ahead of the video, making watching the shows very annoying. If there is as fix to this please let me know so I can change this 2 star rating to a 5 star. UPDATE- The delay only happened with Safari-when I switched to google chrome is is completely in sync. You guys should make sure your users know about the simple answer to why their video is delayed.

A fine app -- works exactly as advertised. - After installing an app, my MacBook did not mirror on the TV, so I sent a diagnostics report. In the mean time, I discovered that my incompetence was to blame. After installing the audio and clicking the right options, the app worked like a charm. And, in the few minutes that it took me to do this, I had already received a support reply. So, the app works wonderfully well, and the support for it is speedy indeed. Yes, there is a delay of a second or two between the computer and TV, but that is exactly what is advertised and what I had expected. The app is perfectly functional for watching videos, live feed, etc.

Very helpful--would recommend - I've only been using this for a day but it's been really successful to connect my MacBook Air to my Samsung Smart TV. With no expensive adapter. I am thrilled. When I first tried it, I had no luck, but when I reached out to the app's tech support they not only got back to me immediately but they hung in there thru several queries (and always responded immediately) and trials until I found the issue. It was on my end, it was not an issue with their app. Once I fixed it (a Comcast problem), the app has been working flawlessly. Highly recommended.

WOW - Great Support - I have been using Mirror for Samsung for a while and all of a sudden it stopped working. Naturally I contacted support via Facebook and in ess than a day they got back to me. They had me try all different ways to get it working - yet it would still not work. They did not give up. They asked me if I added any new programs and I told the I added McAfee. They said that this might be the problem so I shut it down. Over a period of two days they had me try different things and still nothing. They then asked me how did I close McAfee and I told them that I just quit the program. They then said that I had to actually tell it to turn off its firewall because just quitting does not work. Needless to say I congratulated their support staff for asking me the right questions so that they could give me the correct answers. They didn't give up on me, so I will not give up on them. The only problem that I have with the program is the slight lag between my computer nd the screen. This is not a software problem, butrather a hrdware problem. Perhaps Samsung nd Apple can work together to resolve it.

Audio update is AWESOME - now that the audio is also being cast to the screen, the few second short screen lag isn't a concern anymorefor playing videos. MBP15 2014.
