Release Notes:

GoodNotes is now a universal purchase across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This Mac version will be removed from sale shortly and is replaced by another version that is part of the universal purchase together with the iOS and iPadOS version. If you bought GoodNotes on iPhone or iPad, you can install the new Mac version for free if you sign in with the same Apple ID that you used for the purchase.

THIS VERSION WILL NO LONGER RECEIVE ANY UPDATES AND WON'T BE SUPPORTED FURTHER. PLEASE REPLACE IT WITH THE VERSION FROM THE UNIVERSAL PURCHASE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Your documents will automatically be available in the new Mac app if you use iCloud Sync.
Sadly, it is not possible to include existing Mac apps into the universal purchase, which is why we had to upload a separate app build and will need to remove this one from sale.

To get more information, click on the support URL in the App Store product page of this app.

Update: Printing is terrible - Old Review: When I try to print (which seems to me like the only conceivable function people would want this app for), I get a notification that says "this appliction is not allowed to print. Please contact your application vendor for an update." Please fix this and I will change this review to a 5 star review (giving two stars for now because syncing works well so far). Update: When I go to print, I have to change the scale to 130% for my document to fill the page. Also, the page where you set the print settings is so poorly optimized that when I try to set a page range, it takes a whole minute for the keystrokes to respond. All in all, it takes me about five minutes to get my notes ready to print just be cause of the bugginess of this app. If the developers would just fix this one issue, I would update my review to five stars. There should also be an option to "print a range of pages" rather than only having "print this page" and "print all." This would speed up the export process.

Needs Stability Improvements - I love the Goodnotes 5 app for iPad, but the Mac application needs some stability improvements. In its current form, it crashes before the app even opens, rendering it unusable. Looking forward to using this app when it is functional!

Legacy??? Unfair !!! - if I know that will happen, I will not buy the mac version. My macOS and ios are bought separately. I bought the IOS first, at that time, iOS and macOS required to buy separately!!! then I bought this macOS version( not too long ago!!! ) but now it became a legacy? This is unfair to those who bought separately for two versions/price !!! Although it is not a lot of money. it is unethical for you people to cheat money like this!!! Please refund to those who are in the same situation as me.

Being charged again for the Universal app - First you block users from contacting you for support. Then, you charge us for a Mac app that later becomes an included app with our previous iOS purchase. And, you say that the App store will magically provide the universal GoodNotes app free of charge because we already own it, but that's not true either -- the app store is charging me yet another $7.99. WTH are you people doing?!?

"Legacy Version" - 5 weeks after I buy this it's now the "legacy version" and I need to pay another $8 to get it on iPad. Wow that is terrible. And I'm the one who has to go in and request a refund from the app store. The app is great but I don't give 5 star ratings when this b.s. is happening.

Adaptive & Functional - As a grad student working exclusively online, I needed a way to record my thoughts and process the information that I challenged myself to learn on my own. The method that functioned best for me was to take notes. But I am meticulous when it comes to notebooks. I need to have the right pen that is consistent with my previous notes, including having available the same highlighter colors, pen colors, and layout. GoodNotes lets me organize specific materials in a form that is easy for me to understand, reading back over my notes. So a physical notebook is out, and a digital one is a winner. With the iPad and Apple Pencil, I have taken hundreds of pages of notes, and I can search for them, organize them, and move them around. A great feature is to add academic articles into the notebook and annotate with highlights and personal notes, again that is searchable. Great product! My only grumble is that I paid for the app twice on my Macbook so I could access the material on my computer as well; this should all be integrated across an Apple account.
