Sometimes the app would get stuck loading a note (usually a web clip or shared note) until finally it gave up and assumed you were offline. But now your notes should load fast enough to make you smile.
If you updated to macOS Catalina then tried to highlight text inside a PDF, it would look like there was nothing selected. You could say it was a big fail, but on the bright side, we fixed it.

Evernote is a versatile and very useful program - I have been using Evernote on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone for a few years. I really enjoy it. It syncs between these devices very well. They have done a really good job with design and continued improvements. The more I use it, the more useful it becomes. It is like your own personal Internet in which to search for the things that are important to you, things that matter to you, and among info that is yours. When in doubt… save it to Evernote…you never know when you might need the info. I recommend searching online for use cases and learning about that and applying it to how you use this program. They are just so many useful ways in which to use this program. I’ve gone paperless as much a possible and so everything is in Evernote. I can be anywhere out doing business and always have all my data and documents at my fingertips if needed. Amazing.
I hate Evernote - WARNING: Evernote is YET ANOTHER cloud-based app that promises you the moon, makes massive promises about how they will nimbly and carefully manage our extremely valuable and mission-critical data: it sync across devices, it makes our life easier, etc. Now, after loading Evernote with over one hundred files, it now refuses to sync across my devices. There is no fix in sight, and support is condescending at best. The forum answers I’ve received are down right patronizing. In the end, it’s a frustrating and miserable failure, waste of time, and ultimately, very dangerous. Trust me, I’m not working for their competition, unlike the hordes of obvious astroturfers who’ve been paid to give the app five stars. (huh?!) As a matter of fact, I hate all the cloud-based note-taking and storage apps— they are seemingly all flawed to the extent that they simply cannot be trusted anymore with mission-critical data and files. I recommend local back ups to friends and colleagues at this point. for those who have ears to hear…..

Lost Their Way - Back in the early days, Evernote was great. Then, they had too many committee meetings, too many ideas how to "improve" it. Then, they had to pay for those constant "improvements," so they went to the Dark Side subscription model. Then, teams & companies replaced individuals as their target. Then they raised their prices to beyond rediculous. Today, it is almost unrecognizable from it's genesis: A great, simple, (free) easy place to store notes. RIP
Increasing cost and diminishing usability - At one point, Evernote was the only game in town if you wanted to have notes on all of your devices and have them sync everywhere. If that were still true, then paying what they want you to pay (which is expensive for just syncing your notes), would be something you might have to just stomach. There are so many more options now, that have even more functionality and are completely free. If you want simplicity, just go with Apple Notes... always works and is everywhere. There is also OneNote; can do just about anything and is free on all of your devices. Do a little looking and you'll find tons of options these days. I made the switch to OneNote, which took a full day of work to move my three thousand notes/pages over (without even using half of my allotted storage). My wife took the Apple Notes route, and she is just as happy with her choice as I am. And our bank account is even happier! If it feels like you have started serving Evernote, instead of your note taking tool serving you, it might be time to head to the land of the free.
The worst customer service ever experienced - I bought the app. Then the app didn't work, so I politely asked customer service if they can look into why it isn't working. Lo and behold I have now sent screenshots three different times to PROVE I paid for their idiotic, frankly low quality app and they still haven't resolved the problem, tracked down the payment, or done anything to rectify the situation. The app isn't worth it, and the customer service is a total joke. They take your money, don't give you what they promise, and then treat you like crap along the way. What a joke.
Annoying bugs - I've downloaded Evernote hoping it becomes my primary note-taking app for college. Unfortunately, it has not been up to standards nor expectations. My main issue with Evernote is its bugs. There are countless bugs that I have encountered in only 2 hours of use! Font colours revert back to the original when I click on a differrent note, input lag is very clear at times, it lacks the ability to copy/paste text format and image re-sizing is quite awkward. These are issues that can be fixed very easily, yet I find them extremely frustrating. Based on my experience, the customer support is very lacking and void. I'm sorry for being frank, but it does. The last update on the Mac app store was 3 months ago, and many of the issues discussed in the forums are overlooked by the developers. This is not what you would expect from an award-winning brand. There are many applications that have the same functionality and much more effort invested by their developers, such as Agenda. However, with fixed bugs, I believe Evernote can surely outrank all other applications.
Hacked! - I used Evernote for a long time, but when I checked the access log, I noticed that I was not the only one viewing my account. It was viewed by others from different countries. I wouldn't trust this app! If you have the program, be sure to check the access log often.
