Dictate - Speech to text allows to dictate and translate text messages instead of typing. It uses speech to text voice recognition technology and it's main purpose is speech to text and translation for text messaging. Never type any text, just dictate and translate it using your speech! Using the clipboard technology, nearly every app that can send and receive text messages can be configured to operate with it. The speech to text recognition engine is the builtin one of iOS devices.

► Convenience of Dictate - Speech to text
In order to send text messages quickly there is a "Send"-button that allows to launch the target app, i.e. Twitter, Facebook, WhatsAapp, Flickr, Email or whatever else is capable of coping with text messages. If you for example select Email using the "Send"-button, the builtin email application is immediately launched and a new email is automatically created that contains the transcribed text from the voice to text recognition. All you need to do is to fill in the message receiver and send it. This works similar for all other social media apps.

► Translation from Dictate - Speech to text
Translation is as easy as pushing the translation button. You can specify the translation target language in the app settings. Then you push the translate button to get it translated. The translation can just as easily be sent like the original dictated text itself.

► Time saving of Dictate - Speech to text
The benefit in saving time of voice to text technology is tremendous. Compared to typing the savings in time of dictating it can be up to 80%. You also can dictate messages while being in the car, you just need to speak them. There is no more need to type on the display. (Typing on mobiles while driving is forbidden in many countries!)

► Free test period of Dictate - Speech to text
You can use Dictate - Speech to text right out of the box without any restrictions. If you want to use the "Send"-button more frequently, please upgrade to the Pro Version. This allows unlimited usage of the app !

► Supported speech recognition languages of Dictate - Speech to text

Works even better than advertised - I am deaf and have been trying for several years to find and make use of a dictation app for conversations and as subtitles on programs like Skype and Zoom. I acquired Dictate afor my iPad and iPhone nd thought it superior to other dictation apps, both in the speed and accuracy of its transcriptions and because of the unlimited length of the dictation sessions. But I was still stuck when it came to videoconferencing subtitles, except for a cobbled together use of my iPhone as a subvtitle machine, picking up the sound from the Mac display speakers.. The advent of the MacOS version of Dictate has given me true, on screen subtitles with four participants: one in Japan, one in Brooklyn, NY, one in Boston, and me in Portland, Maine. I could enjoy the conversation reling on the display speakers. All sources coming through very well, in spite of the fact that I cannot use a mikcrophone, for whioch the developer says the program is optimized. Dictate is, for those of us dependent on subtitles in videoconferences, a hidden treasure. Thank you. Don Nicoll

doesn't keep up - I ran a test run with this app after getting it. Catalina, MBP16. It was a average speech and the source as an audio file. All I wanted to do was transcribe the speech to text. Total fail. ok, after the developer response, I'll say the same. The fact is the voice is still an electronic signal that is digitized as it passes through a microphone to the serial port to the bus before getting processed in an app. Lame excuse for poor functionality.

App works v. Well - Dictate is The workable answer to the bad speech to text performance of just about everything on my iPhone and MacBook Pro. It’s doing a good job with my large vocabulary and many demands for a huge variety of documents. Highly recommend.
