Sorta Works. But its clunky - I was looking for an application to record my webcam for online seminars and tutorials. CamWiz will hook into your webcams of all shapes and sizes. Along with using your microphone for audio. However while it has all the bells and whistles it’s extremely laggy. The interface is tiny and stuttery. Then the recordings can have a squished look after they’re exported. In a pinch this can work for you. However if you need a long term webcam recorder get something like OBS for mac or ManyCam.

Horrible… - Wow…I’ve seen some pretty terrible GUI’s in my day but this one takes the cake. Reminds me of WinAmp back in Windows XP… What’s with this terrible GUI!? Just use the stock OS X framework jeeze…Also no way to set the cache \ temp directory manually (which is what I need since my main drive is full). This app is going straight to the trash.

Here, specifically, is why it's so bad... - This app is terrible, because: 1. Most importantly, it doesn't do correctly what it is supposed to do: my 1080p60 video stream was recorded at 10 (!) fps. That's on a loaded 2019 Mac Pro, so clearly not because the machine was too slow, and other webcam recorders had no trouble keeping up at 60 fps. 2. The _tiny_ (300x450) window is not resizable, so it is nearly impossible to see the image you are recording. My 1920x1080 vid source gets displayed at approx 286x220. 3. Note in #2 above, it displayed the video with squished with an incorrect aspect ratio. Source video was 16:9, displayes squished to 4:3 ! 4. The GUI is perverse, following no conventional UX standards and making poor, wildly skeuomorphic choices at the cost of usability. Example: a round, brushed alumnimum button is offered mid-window as a way to quit the program. Similarly, it's quite tricky to find how to save a video after you have recorded it, which is comical given that's the only purpose of this program. However the price is right. Still, I have no purpose with it remaining except to send this review and delete it. Save yourself the time.
