Good for an initial product - This app is built along the philosopy of Google - Do the job, and keep it clean and intuitive. Id oes exactly what it is supposed to do, and uses little system resources. I am a application hacker, and have a really tweaked system and his app has never interfered with normal system operations. All that being said, there is always room for evolution. Notice I did not say improvement, since it does what it says it does without fuss. However, I can see many possible extensions for what it could do. Make it applescriptable with a API and let others write scripts that read the data and pass instructions to the thermostat. How about a script that knows when your bluetooth phone is near and sets the temperature when you come and go? What about using the data along with realtime energy costs to determine operating cost? Like I said, there is a lot of potential, and I could see commercial users.
Very clean application - The Radio Thermostat device is an amazing and affordable way to control the temperature over wifi. The thermoStatus app is a really nice app for controlling the thermostat and only has a 13M footprint. The experience of controlling my environment from my computer has to be tried to be truely appreciated.
What I was looking for - I was looking for a nice simple app that would allow me to mange/view the infomation from my thermostat.
