Description:

Modern computers with multiple high resolution displays present us with the "where is my mouse" problem. myPoint solves it using three different techniques - a momentary or permanent mouse locator, a permanent crosshair and a permanent mouse halo.
• Momentary mouse locator is a visual effect active up to few seconds. It can be an animated or static ring.
• Permanent mouse locator is a static ring only.
• Permanent crosshair displays two thin lines across the mouse position.
• Permanent mouse halo highlights the mouse cursor using an image shown around it. A free online halo gallery is available.
All tools are highly customizable: geometry, transparency, animation speed, hotkeys, mouse gesture, events.

Mouse Locator reveals the mouse cursor position with a gently animated or static ring.

Version 2.15

Very cool and the right price! - This app works great, even better than I expected. I just wanted something simple for when I am in a classroom and I want to show my students something on the screen, and use the mouse pointer to guide them around. The only problem that I ran into is that I can’t make the halo module show a halo like the one shown in the app advert. Mine is thinner. I’d like a bolder one, just like the one shown. Oh well, it’s only a buck!

Unremovable - When you want to remove this app there is no way or instructions. Just removing the app icon will not remove all pieces strewn through the system. What one would expect for such an app is an uninstall option the the app or even instructions in the app on their web site. But there is none.

Issue with Safari - When the app is used, the pointer functions in Safari (9.1.2) on OS 10.11.6 gets awful slow down. Clicking and moving pointer gets sticky.

Version 2.23

MyPoint Lite - Two great features, allows you to effectively change the cursor arrow by attaching another object underneath the standard cursor. Provides several and you can make your own. The included large red arrow is perfect for highlighting objects on the screen in a presentation where the original curser is too small to be seen on a HD big screen by the audience. The alternate cursor works on multiple screens both mirrored and separate so it works seamlessly for presentations where I could see my laptop but not the big screen for the audience. The added cursor does trail a bit (¼ to ½ inch) when the cursor moves rapidly but quickly catches up and is only noticable when you can see the original cursor clearly. The smoothness of the cursor scroll is about the same as the original cursor. Both are a little jagged on fast scrolling. For a presentation it’s perfect because the intent is to point out something and talk about it. Also the black original cursor lays overtop of the added big red cursor and just looks like a black tip. And you can always make your own cursor to further minimize the effect if you want to. (didn’t try that) The second great feature is that it puts a halo around the std cursor to make it more obvious or an assortment of other objects such as a horizontal line to underline text or a crosshair. The halo can also be used to find the cursor when the mouse moves and does so every time the mouse moves between multiple screens if your using them. Makes it very easy to keep track of your cursor across multiple screens and it quickly shrinks after showing the transition to get out of the way. Using 10.12.4 on a Mid 2014 13 MacBook Pro 2.8Ghz

Version 2.23

Replaced UnSupported App... - Some time ago I purchased an app called Mouse Locator… it worked fine, but is now no longer supported (no updates for new version of OS X). I found this thing… and it’s GREAT. Works just as well as the old app… with even more functions (crosshairs - though not entirely useful to me; I’m sure UI/Graphics Developers will find it extremely useful). Love it!

Version 2.23

2.23. pointer graphic - It does what it is designed to do. Not much. It does show the mouse position when you shake the mouse, and you can control much about that graphic. Yes Siera has a locater, pointer, and if that is all you need the built in one should suffice quite well. If you are doing presentations, live or video, this is a very good app to have. you can turn your pointer into an attention getting device, change it with key commands on the fly. Sript reading and story reading, for your self or aloud, ther are moving lines. Well it can help in drawing - but not a lot. and really that is all it is designed to do. Simple, inexpensive, and it is Not a subscription. if you, like Dan Zaph, what to remove it, contact the developer, they will explain how.
