Change takes some getting used to... - As a long time user of the previous version, I would recommend these thoughts: 1. Follow the instructions for migrating explicitly, and go slow. It’s too easy to screw it up. 2. Kick the tires. There are plenty of nice bells and whistles that make the wait worth it. The new version allows seamless syncing to ALL of my devices without all of the Dropbox set-up mumbo jumbo. I also appreciate the program’s ability to identify weak and duplicate passwords and making the changes a breeze. Follow my advice and I’m sure you’ll like mSecure too.
Buyer beware - I really hate to give bad reviews but like my title says “buyer beware!” Don’t take my word for it just go to the support forums for this application and read for yourself. Riddled with launch delays and not a single email to keep PRE-PAID purcharsers updated. Several promised and missed release dates, mixed stories as to the reason. Sometimes it was “we are working out final kinks so it is perfect”, “we submitted it to the app stores” or others. At one point they were working out the kinks after it had already been submitted to the stores … really? Listen as a developer I understand what goes into this process, but where this company fell flat on their faces is in the lack of communication with clients. Not a single email to let me know what was happening with the late release. I should not be forced to go to the forums to find out what is happening. I have previous versions of this product and it was great, but this version don’t waste your money. NO DROPBOX sync so if this is important to you stop reading now. I am still waiting on them to submit my refund which is one of many that requested it (read the forums if you don’t believe me).I could go on at length but truly do not want to bash this company. Yet at the same time their customer interaction is the worst I have ever encountered. You should wait about 6 months before “upgrading” to this version. BUYER BEWARE!

Long Time mSecure User - I’ve been using the “old" mSecure for quite some time, 2 year at least, and the best feature of the product was that you could sync locally over your LAN. This is the biggest and best feature that I liked over other competitors. It seems like everyone else was always “sync to the cloud” and now the new mSecure v5 has done the same thing. Its great and all that their cloud is using AES-256 encryption but its still in their cloud and with more and more companies being hit with things like ransomeware and data breaches I really perfered the option of storing it locally. I am still a big fan of v4 and continue to use it today but until v5 can provide local LAN sync this product is unusable for me. [The assumption of] Local sync and bundled with the new interface was a big reason I pre-purchased aswell. I hope Local LAN sycn will be added in the near furture until then I’ll be sticking with v4.
Dropbox sync - fail!! - I’ve been holding my tongue for long enough. The failure to supply the dropbox sync now to version 5.0.3 is pitiful and ridiculous. I refuse to use version 5 as long as that feature is not included. I may soon be switching to another password utility if this isn’t remedied soon. Don’t buy until they fix this - If they go down in flames, your access to passwords will be gone, and could fall into the hands of someone else.
mSecure 5 - This product is not what it proposes to be. If you buy the multi device application , it will not transfer all your information to your second device unless you enter all your information a second time.Secondly after I had purchased my multi device app ( which did not work) I could not open the app as the logo on my main computer had a big question mark on it and would not open from my dock. I knew my password but that was useless as the msecure logo would not leave my dock to even open. Do not buy this app and even though I have consulted their support sevice (which is very slow) they were no help .
Disappointing upgrade - I have been using mSecure since 2013. Always has been one of my favorite apps. I have no plans to use this new upgrade. You can’t even log into the app until you create a cloud account. The cloud is the last place where I want my passwords stored. I will continue to use the old version I have installed as long as I can. I will also be checking out new apps. This is a hugh step backwards for what was a great app that I have used for 4 years and recommend to many others. No more recommendations as long as this is the only option.
