Description:

Want to capture everything on your screen? 3d games bogging down ordinary screen capture software? Those days are over: welcome to iShowU HD. Built for speed. Built to “just work”…

iShowU HD has been rebuilt from the ground up to provide blazing real-time performance with a brand new, easy-to-use interface. With professional features like drag-and-drop to Final Cut and multi-channel audio capture just a single click away, iShowU HD has all the power you’ll ever need at a price you can deal with.

Note: Recording of application audio requires the free Soundflower extension.

Lion users, please note a number of differences:
* The number and types of Video/Audio codecs are different than in 10.5/10.6.
* The 'Show Mouse' feature currently always enabled.
* Low CPU mode is not available under Lion.

For further information, please see our help site at http://help.shinywhitebox.com/ishowu_hd/ishowu-hd-and-lion/

In addition, there some differences between the iShowU AppStore build and our previous builds:
* The capture guide (which used a private API) is unavailable in the AppStore build.
* The option to hide the icon in the dock is unavailable.

- Fixed a number of small memory leaks.
- Fixed issue with AppleScript integration where specifying a relative filename wouldn't work.

Re-Review of this app - Under the Mavericks operating system, this program gave me a heads-up on making a setting change on the System Settings for the Mac (universal accessibility), which seems to have solved my earlier problems he program. With the problem of the “floating catch phase” eliminated, I hope that this will be my go-to screen recording app as it is very easy to use.

Doesn't work! - I have a brand new Macbook Pro Retina. Installed this software from the App Store and I get this error message: iShowU HD was unable to capture. Unable to start capture. The underlying reason was Shader validation error: Validation Failed: Current draw framebuffer is invalid. I created a ticket 18hours ago and it still has not been assigned to someone. This is an expensive program and I would expect better service. Apple should not allow programs like this into the App Store.

Meh - I purchased this to record Skype interviews. This involves installing Soundflower and then selecting some combination of preference options for sound input/output devices in Skype, IShowU HD, and the system preferences. I don't do this often, but each time I do it usually takes me 30min to an hour to figure out the right combination to get it recording the sound correctly through a headset. The application interface is a scattering of confusing inter-related checkboxes and drop down selections. It crashes consistently whevever I unplug my USB headset. If you do this before remembering to press stop on your recording then your entire recording is lost. That said, it is still somewhat more reliable than other similarly priced software that I've tried. It does a great job with resizing video to certain format without spending hours waiting for it to render. The interface leaves MUCH to be desired.

Used to be a great app! Audio capture Doesn’t work on El Capitan. - Back when I was poor I had a priated version of this app. I really liked it because it worked better for me than Camtasia - which most of my peers used at the time. The interface was a little clunky but once I got used to it I liked the app. Mostly I liked the video editing and effects (like recording mouse clicks and displaying characters typed) better than Camtasia. Fast forward a few years and I needed it again. Older, wiser, and (most importantly) employed, I opted to pay for the app. Sadly this time around (after paying for the software) I can’t get it to work. Specifically I can’t get “Soundflower” (another piece of software by the same company) to install on El Capitan, so I cant capture sound from online meetings (like a google hangout). Kharma I guess. Please fix Shiny White Box!

was good, now not so much - I've used this program for two or three years and it's been very useful. Unfortunately now (running on Yosemite) it simply creates 0 byte files no matter what combination of settings you choose. Seems to have slipped to abandonware status.
