Description:

Locked in front of your mac for more than 4 hours a day, have dry eye, other eye problems, or just want to save your vision? Refocus your eyes on iRestReminder’s target as it moves around your screen for 10 seconds to refresh your eyes and your mind—and then get back to business with a simple reminder of what tasks needs to be done. Inspired by a iRestFREE user, iRestReminder combines our popular eye-care software with an event reminder and chime clock.

Have iRestReminder come up hourly, by the half hour, quarterly—or at set times to relax and then alert you of the next “to do” event. Select from many sound effects for your refresh sessions, or no sounds at all. Add your event items to iCal at the same time and even use iRestReminder to display vocabulary words. Not a clock-watcher? Let iRestReminder bring up refresh periods based on how you work and by the intensity of your computing—enable the Intelligent Engine. iRestReminder will help you be more efficient without tiring your eyes or missing an appointment.

Experience the 10 second refresh session by downloading my free app—iRestFREE. (Click the “More by dragonBTV” box on this page.) Keep your head still and let your eyes follow the target as it moves about the screen and give your tired eyes a rest.

Features:
– Target color and transparency can be adjusted.
– Refresh session uses a moving target—not just a message to “close your eyes”.
– Refresh sessions will not affect what you are working on and takes only 10 seconds.
– Choose hourly, half-hourly, or quarter-hourly refresh session.
– Set events and messages to appear at any day and time, preceded by the refresh session. Moveable animated message window is Just click to dismiss.
– Events and messages can be added to iCal without launching it.
– Intelligent Engine uses a special prediction method, easily turned on or off.
– Easily select refresh session sound effects. Locate more effects on your Mac from Apple’s iLife and GarageBand. (On your hard drive go to /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/) or search in finder for “CAF” loop files or for music.

My Executive Assistant! - Not quite "Iron man's" Virginia "Pepper" Potts, but "iRestReminder" looks after your eyes as well as your itinerary. Intense Photoshop and Illustrator work have me inches away from the screen and what feels like minutes of retouching and vector flexing are actually endless hours of detail work. Stop and give my eyes a rest and focus on something far away? I don't even take off my contacts when I sleep (NOT that you should do the same)! I also forget to pay bills or wish family members "Happy Birthday". This simple app lets you refocus your tired eyes at set intervals. I set it for "hourly" to function like a clock (use Apple's Speech feature to have your Mac also announce the time!). "Reminders" will let you program a message or reminder at a specific day and time and displays it in a single color strip. Act on it and click it away or leave it up and continue working. Each reminder comes with a bonus eye refresh so ignoring your reminder is kind of hard to do. Enable a sound effect and use your favorite color and transparency, and you've got the perfect "poke". I may not have any upcoming "staff reviews" or "evaluations" to fill out, but no way am I going to miss any upcoming episodes of "Fringe"! Maybe next upgrade we get Gwyneth? One can only ask.
