When I can't concentrate on a subject like biology, I turn this app on and it helps. The focus is the one I use and there is retention as well - Bryant Dillard on Monday, July 11 2011

iMind Sphere is an application that will allow you to relax, sleep better, concentrate on your work, improve your creativity, learn faster, or even meditate more deeply, all in a simple and easy way. You don’t need to be an expert in meditation to use iMind Sphere. You can improve your live simply by connecting a headset and using this product regularly.

There are five types of waveform in our brain: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Theta. The level of activity in the brain is governed by the speed of the waves it generates. Delta waves are slower and occur when you are asleep, while gamma waves are faster and do occur when you do mental efforts.

iMind Sphere uses binaural tones that are combined with soft music and sounds of nature. Listening to these tones causes the brain to work at the desired speed.

Does it sound strange? Consider this: When you listen to upbeat music you get happy, and if you listen sad music you get melancholic. It's that simple. There is no magic in this principle: the sound can change the way our mind works. It's natural.

Click the edges of the sphere to activate and deactivate the sounds and create custom programs. It's easy!

Surprisingly useful - I'm pretty sure I'm not going to travel out of body or have some astral projection (??) but it is useful to concentrate and focus, and not just as a sound generator. I use about three of the various settings and they seem to work to improve concentration or relaxation. I was more than surprised that it worked. Headphones are probably required. Recommended.

Should have been free - Don't buy it…you can hear it loop about every 30 seconds which is distracting and annoying.

Not what I was expecting - I was looking for something with nice music and ambient sounds I could individually select. This is NOT it. For $5 bucks it is just funky synth sounds…almost like listening to bad sci-fi music. No place to select nature sounds by themselves. I won't enjoy listening to this :-(
