BPCapture - BPCapture is a simple data capture program designed to retrieve BP data from certain OMRON blood pressure meters or Distance Data from certain OMRON Pedometers. The software works as advertised. Nothing fancy. You can save the data in either PDF or TXT format. If you have Adobe online account you can use their online converter to MS Word or Excel. I do not have a Pedometer, but I am looking forward to this developer to expanding to other medical devices that can connect to Macs. We need to support him. I would like to find out how to get doctors to accept BP data via email since they are all concerned about HIPPA requirements. In the mean time I can still save data to thumb drive or print them out.

Not worth the money - It really shouldn't be priced this high just because it extracts your data and puts it into a PDF. I could just use Pages to do that myself. It needs to have some way of sharing it or making it into a graph. That would make it better. I wish I could get my money back since this is such a basic app and not worth the money.

How about saving data in formats other than a PDF? - I wish it also saved a csv file (or something similar) so I can do my own plots or process the data.

Basic data capture software. - This program is a basic data capture and down load program for use with some of the Omron health devices. I have been using the Omron BP meters for quite sometime, and have been looking for a Mac based program to allow the down loading of BP readings for doctor reviews. The program will capture the readings for the listed Omron BP meters. It formats the readings in a table and saves them in a Acrobat file format (As stated in the program summery) It seems to function well, in it's basic mode. I would like to see more features to it. It would be nice to be able to export the readings to a CSV, or tab delimited text file, so that they could be imported into a spread sheet or a database for further review. It would also be nice to have some basic instructions incorporated into the program for less knowledgeable users. It's a shame that there are not more programs for uses like this on the Macintosh platform. There are a number of them for the Windows OS. The cost of this program is reasonable. It would be worth more if it had a few more features incorporated into it. I hope the author will add a few features and release a newer version in the future. I would have been using the program sooner if I had known about it. My thanks to the author for making this tool available. 2-23-13, UP date. I have found that using another program (PDF Converter Pro) also available here on the App store, you can easily convert the PDF output from IBPCapture to a Excel, or Numbers file, and then you can process your BP readings. I like to determine the averages, Max and Min values, as well as plot the readings over time. These two programs, working together make this fairly easy to do. IBPCapture has worked very well with the Omron 791IT BP meter.

Need just a little more flexibility - After it downloads the data, you need to be given the option to purge or clear the memory, especially in the case of the Omron Pedometer. Otherwise you are still seeing the blinking "Bi" symbol on the screen (indicating memory is full and overwrite is happening). I would love it, if it generated a text file of the data -versus- dumping to a PDF and doing some analysis on it. I also would like to see the dates that the Omron records in each record. This would be immensly helpful! Keep up the great work - finally something on the Mac that can read this little device!
