This is going to be great... - I am still playing with it. If you’ve been using the iPhone or iPad app, its pretty similar. A keyboard cover with the shortcuts would be nice. Also wondering what kind of hardware will be made available. There are some glitches, like library not loading correctly. I have figured out a way around it, but its not very smooth or practical. I’m not going to drop the rating because I’m confident this will get resoved by the first update. Keep the toys coming.

Can’t record when mixing from Spotify tracks. - Description should have made clear that entire Spotify catalog is treated as DRM’d and all recording of mixes is disabled. Makes spotify integration pretty useless unless you’re just using this as a music player… Very frustrating.

New update is nice! - I’m liking the smoother Spotify integration on the update! Also, the adaptive sync was a big step up and has helped me beatmatch much more compared to the older version where I found myself fine tuning A LOT. I’ve been using this program to DJ private parties and a few clubs for a bit over 2 years. The first time I used it, it was love at first sight. In fact, I left another program for it. However, I really wish you all would do something about the filter. I was messing around on Serato the other day (they sent me an email about their new update and I said sure why not) and I realized how much better the lp and hp filters sound. They sound really clear and there is no fuzzy sound. I feel that the filter on DJay really lacks in that area. It simply sounds harsh and not smooth. The harsh sound when about mid level range on the knob going into the lp or hp can definitely throw off a good transition. Please take this into consideration because this application is so amazing. Also, I’m pretty sure there are some legal issues that arise with this, but being able to store tracks offline for Spotify users would make life so much easier! I would gladly be willing to pay extra for this feature because sometimes there are some songs that I find on Spotify that I am not able to find anywhere else and I’m sure it would help out a lot of DJs that take on gigs in areas with no internet connection. You all ROCK!

Ok for hobby or bedroom DJ’s but Lacks in features for true professionals. Needs DVS features - I have had all the DJ “programs” out serato, traktor, virtual DJ 8, mixar, rekordbox, denon engine, and DJay Pro. I am a professional DJ who works 4-nights a week in night club in Dallas TX. I love this program for djing straight from my Macbook and even with my Denon controler but it lacks the funtionality to dj from turntables or other CDJ’s besides Pioneer’s. lets be 100% honest most who are using this program are not going to have CDJ2000NXS2’s (at $2k per player) or a DJM900NXS2 (at $2k) just laying around and if they did they would be using Rekordbox or Serato!! this is a begining DJ program and untill they take the leap to put out DVS (digital vinyl system) compatablity with this program it will remain a beginning dj program and leave many of us pro’s using traktor serato and rekordbox. Even virtual dj 8 (which is very much a starter program) has a DVS / timecode option. CDJ’s are awesome and industry standard personally I prefer the denon CDJ’s as to pioneer but am well versed in both. I would love to see more player selection on their plug and play menu and a timecode /dvs option for us turntablist out there that would really take this program to the next level and make it a true continder in the dj game. Maybe Abelton intergration as well ?? Hhhmmm now I just might be asking too much. DJ David Drumz

Missing key features - I’m really trying to like djay Pro. Coming from Traktor, djay Pro's interface is so much better, easier and more polished. However, there are some issues with the current release. For example, where Traktor’s playback is rock solid, djay Pro tends to skip on rare occasions on the same Mac. More importantly, in terms of features, djay Pro isn’t really that pro. As can be found on their own forums, many people have been asking for technically simple but helpful features like a beat/bar/phrase count (Traktor has it), beat jumping, quantizing and saving loops (cue points are saved but some some mysterious reason, loops are not). Algoriddim’s standard answer on the forums is “we’ll look into it”. I understand there is a fine line between UI simplicity and feature creep, but as it stands now, djay Pro is more a gadget or gimmick, and certainly not a professional tool. That is, in my view, very unfortunate. I am not sure who Algoriddim is targeting with this app. Feature-wise, djay Pro is somewhere in an odd noman’s land between basic iOS DJ apps and pro apps like Traktor. I would love djay Pro to be as powerful as Traktor while maintaining its user-friendliness, but this version isn’t that unfortunately.

Great, but useless without internet - I run a mobile DJ business and this is perfect for me. However, if you do not have internet service you’re basically screwed. I typically use Spotify for everything and if you do not have good internet connection the app will refuse to play any songs even if you have them downloaded on Spotify.
