Have trouble reading small text on your screen? Want to get a better look at small pictures (like the thumbnails here in the app store)? Look no further!
A magnifying glass for your screen, Zoom has all the essential functionality you'd expect for that sort of tool. But Zoom has one incredible, truly unique feature you've never seen anywhere: its innovative zoom effect ensures that 100% of the screen is visible at all times.
Think about it: a perfectly zoomed center, yet your entire desktop is visible... how? The answer lies in Zoom's custom, hypnotically beautiful magnification mechanism visible in the screenshots below.
★ Never use complicated gestures and key combos to zoom IN and OUT of your entire screen (over and over again).
★ Never have that disorienting feeling when you're zoomed in on one part of the screen that you can't tell what's going on in another part.
★ "Work through" Zoom - Continue clicking, typing, and so on, right through the window, allowing you to work even while Zoom is in front.
★ Use either the keyboard OR the mouse to bring up and dismiss Zoom (for both power users and point-and-click people)
✔ Zoom in/out
✔ Resize the window
✔ Global hotkey: "control-Z" (Z for Zoom)
✔ Copy what you see
✔ Optional Menubar icon (Dockless mode)
Thanks and enjoy!

Excellent Developer Support - excellent product - I have revised this review to a 5 star review. I had a problem with using this product on dual monitors. The developer responded immediatly and corrected the situation before the end of the day. The app works as advertised and is very useful. It is kind of like the loupe tool in Aperture you move it around and it magnifies the area that you are looking while at while still allowing you to view the entire screen.
Slow, jerky and irksome - This app grinds my system to a crawl. to the extent that it is extremely exasperating to use. I have a new MBA, which has no problem with complex and CPU-intensive graphics, but this app runs like Adobe Flash 10 on a 66 MHz Motorola-powered Apple. I literally have to wait 2-5 seconds between a mouse click or keyboard command, and whatever action I'm taking. I also do not like the "innovative zoom effect." It's neither useful nor "hypnotically beautiful," it just adds visual noise. It may serve to cram the parts of your screen that would normally be obscured by magnification, but it is displayed at such an acute angle, that it is useless at conveying information. One expects to not see around the periphery of a magnified object; it's what we all experience having used a magnifying glass. It's not something that needs to be fixed or compensated for. The gear icon that appears in the middle of whatever you're magnifying should not be in the middle of whatever you're magnifying. The whole point of magnifying is to see something better, not to place an object in front of what you're trying to see. Clicking the gear icon opens a box in which there is another gear icon labeled "preferences." Clicking it does nothing! Also in the box are zoom-in and zoom-out icons, showing "+" and "-" signs respectively. This is fine (well, no it isn't because when you click, nothing happens, so you click again, and suddenly you've magnified too much when the system catches up), but it would be much simpler if there was a keyboard shortcut to do this. The zoom gimmick and the preferences quirks only knock a star or two off this app, and I would expect that those things would be worked out over time. But the real reason for my low review is the excruciating slowness of this app, and the fact that it grinds your system down to a crawl. As long as this app behaves like this, it is utterly useless to me, and I consider it a waste of money. I wish I could get my money back, but I have no idea how to do that, so I'll just write it off as a lesson learned: read the reviews before buying.

Not a great app - Sounds like a good idea but not well implemented in several ways. First, no intuitive way to get help. On first use it took me awile to figure out how to turn it off. It will be very bad for my wife to use. The side distortion around the zoomed area is confusing and probably the reason the zoomed area is slow and jerky to move. I'd like a version that is simple and smooth to use. I'd also like to be able to control the area of focus and the zoom amount. And what's with that little gear in the middle of zoomed area. It just distracts and doesn't seem to do anything, when you can catch it.
I like it.... - But I've not yet been able to get it to bring up preferences when I click the gear icon. Movement of the zoom box seems a little slow and jerky too, but I'm hoping for improvements in time. Thanks for a nice app with a good idea!
