Yakodata

Developer: Project Fondue Pty Ltd

Current Version: 1.2.0

Last Updated: 4 years ago

Download Size: 1.2 MB - Download

Description:

Yakodata lets you download your photos and videos from Flickr and your bookmarks from Delicious.

In just a few clicks, you can do the following with your Flickr photos:

* Get your Flickr photos and videos back from Flickr, in their original size.

* Choose from one or several sets and, optionally, photos not in sets.

* Browse and search through your backed up photos using your browser, even when offline.

If you don't have your photos locally anymore, manually getting them back from Flickr could take months. With Yakodata it's a matter of minutes.

You can also do the following with your Delicious bookmarks:

* Download and preview your bookmarks, whether you have an old-style Delicious-only account or a Yahoo! account linked to Delicious

* Save all your bookmarks in a file, for backup purposes or to import them in any web browser.

* Quickly upload all your bookmarks to your Pinboard account.

Please note that Flickr doesn't let users of trial accounts download their photos back in their original size. You can still use Yakodata but photos will be downloaded at a lower resolution (500x375).
In order to get your photos back in their original size, you need a Flickr Pro account.

Extremely buggy, doesn - UPDATE (April 16th 2011): Version 1.2 changes some things, solves the timeout problem (which was indeed one of the problems), but the basic function of the app, which is to download all of your photos, still DOESN'T WORK. The app starts downloading and then simply hangs after some photos. The developers contacted me trying to solve the problems, which was nice, but then released version 1.2 saying that "All known and reported bugs are fixed", even though I said that the problems weren't solved. I'm just giving up on this app. I guess that if you want to download just a couple of photos it may work well, but if you want to download a big collections, this is not the app. ----------------------------------------------- It's a shame that this application is being available for purchase in the app store. This isn't even Beta, it's Alpha. It was clearly released in a rush with no care about the buyers at all. The application starts saying that it will download "all 7000 photos" even though there are more than 30000, creates a couple of folders for the downloaded pictures (only 6 out of about 50 that it was supposed to) and just hangs. The idea is great, but releasing the app FOR PURCHASE in that state of development is shameful.

Does not work - Authentication was arduous--had to do it several times (both services). Have not been able to download either bookmarks or images. Has been useless to me, and I would obtain a refund, were it possible.

Fantastic Application! - It does exactly what I need it to do and cost a fraction of the price of the one other application I found. I am moving away from Flickr and needed an easy way to backup my 600 photos (not much but it would have sucked to download them by hand). Quick, easy and painless! Thank you for this wonderful program!! :)

A godsend - I had 700 photos in a Flickr set that I wanted to download at full resolution. It would have taken me hours to do in Flickr, but Yakodata did in in minutes. I had none of the problems the other reviewers reported. It worked the first time, flawlessley. If I had read the other reviews I would not have purchased Yakodata, and I'd be downloading Flickr files now instead of writing this. Sure glad I didn't see those reviews.
