Easy & Works - I was a little worried since the only review of this product was negative, but I checked the developer website and they seemed to have their stuff together, so I took a chance. I'm happy to report it worked great - the install was quick & easy, the program was really intuitive, and it let me split a 600MB video into three sections to fit into our online learning portal (they have a 300MB size limit). I liked being able to set my own break points becuase I wanted to make sure each section stopped at the end of a topic. I'm using a Macbook Pro w/ Snow Leopard, and so far the program is working great for me!

An Immense Waste Of Money - The screen is completely blacked out when opening a video file. This is 100% garbage and totally disfunctional. AVOID!

Good but not perfect. - Reading DiscoCow's review, I also checked out the developer website. They have a fully functional downloadable trial version good for 3 uses. Although it was only version 2.0.0 and not the v2.0.1 in the App Store, it did the job of splitting video files as advertised. I purchased via the App Store and this is a review of the 2.0.1 version. The good: - Supports drag-n-drop - Splits files easily using multiple markers - Splits are accurate to the frame - Does not appear to reencode the split files (although you can convert the output files as an option) - Conversion options are numerous and organized by output platforms (lots of options!) - Relatively fast on my iMac i7 (2010) with 8GB RAM. The bad: - Interface is clean and mostly intuitive but not very elegant (looks like a PC port) - Doesn't support frame-by-frame advancing (need to position markers using mouse or pause button) - No batch processing - Preferences only specify the output folder Wish list: - Nicer looking interface, more in line with Final Cut or iMovie - Frame-by-frame control of markers via arrow keys - Batch processing of folders or multiple files - Set default output formats in preferences - Ability to export directly into iTunes via a checkbox (you can do this manually by setting the output folder to the "Automaticaly add to iTunes" folder) A solid deal for $3. Would be worth more if they addressed my wishlist.

compeltely worthless - would not work to split the video I wanted to split into 3 seperate parts (first part came out fine, the next two I couldn't figure out what the format was it put them in)… and I lost the original video in the process. a waste of $20.

Good App - BUT More Features Needed - The app does what it says it does and it works fine, even with .DV files. This is great for taking my Hi8 Tapes and splitting them up by clip because iMovie doesn't see a timestamp change in the original file and brings the whole 2 Hour Hi8 Tape in one 24 GB clip. My Problem: I don't just want to split the clip based on time; I want to split the clip when there's a scene change. THIS APP NEEDS FAST FORWARD AND REWIND BUTTONS AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SCRUB THROUGH THE VIDEO FRAME BY FRAME SO THAT MY SPLITS ARE PRECISE. PLEASE UPDATE THE APP WITH THESE FEATURES AND YOU'LL GET A FIVE/FIVE STAR RATING FROM ME!
