Sometimes when we work we get caught up in multiple Finder windows, multiple Office documents, and multiple Safari windows, all sprawled out across our screen. Window Commander provides an extremely quick way of switching between specific windows without the use of a mouse for when speed is absolutely necessary. Our intuitive system lets users quickly flip between windows in a beautiful and intuitive way and is an excellent alternative or complement to Expose or command-tab.

Window Commander provides users with a new, fast and intuitive way of navigating between windows in their workflow. Use [command- tab] or another shortcut of your choosing to quickly get between windows.

FEATURES:

o BEAUTIFUL INTERFACE:

- Nothing more than necessary is shown to the user, get in and out and onto your next window. Seamlessly work between spaces and organize your windows with ease.

o LIVE PREVIEWS:

Know exactly what's going on in other windows from a quick activation of Window Commander with live previews of other windows.

o FAMILIAR CONTROLS:

Those who find [command + tab] on OSX or [ alt tab ] on Windows useful or Expose useful will find this App an excellent addition to their workflow.

New Hotkeys in Version 1.5:
(Press when WindowCommander panel is shown)

W - Close Window
Q - Quit Window
Shift + Tab = Back Scrolling

o CUSTOMIZATION:

- We don't all work the same, so Window Commander comes with a plethora of customization options for every user in mind, from panel size all the way down to filtering which applications you want to show up.

Shortcuts we suggest using:

[Command- Tab] or [Option- Tab]

o INSTRUCTIONS:

On first run, WindowCommander will appear in the Menu bar with the default Hot Key set to [Command- Tab]. Hold down option and tap tab to scroll through the different windows, when you've selected your desired window, release option to select the window.

If Window Commander is held open or shown, you can secondary-click the opened windows and manipulate them from there. You can bring windows from other spaces, close, and activate various windows.

To configure WindowCommander, simply click the icon in the menu bar in order to change the preferences. If you have hidden the Menu icon and wish to change preferences, simply re-open the application from your Applications folder to reveal the preferences.

Nice! - I know when I first saw this I thought "well, this just replications appletab". Really, this app is nice for someone using a lot of windows inside the same application and rapid work flow. I often have multiple textmate, word, and excel windows open simultaneously and while the apple built in navigation is great, this takes it one step further and refines it to something that is smooth, intuitive, and attractive. Great job!

Doesn't Actually Work - Bought. Downloaded. Installed. Icon appeared. Nothing happened: no option-tab navigation, no preferences--nothing. Doesn't anybody vet these things?

Just the beginning - Everything was easier without the App Store. Now there's the software producer--the corner store who took care of you and knew your name; and there's the App Store--just another big-box monolith. Apple has become what it excoriated in the famous 1984 ad, and we're the dutiful citizens goose-stepping along. Note to Apple and Delve: We don't need workarounds: we need upgrades that work. Somebody want to get on that?

A useful add-on - I haven't had a chance to live with WindowCommander for a long time, but usually add-ons of this type get removed from my computer within a few minutes. What I really like about WindowCommander is that it works with Spaces (not showing you windows that aren't part of the current screen). Also, its keyboard shortcuts don't conflict with other apps I have installed, such as Keybaord Maestro and LaunchBar. Finally, the UI is nicely done: no weird kludges that crud up look and feel. Well done!

Application fails to update - I paid for this application and now the update fails. The error message indicates the application is attempting to access the Headers directory and fails. Please fix this issue. I will rate better after bug fix.

Dual Monitor Support - If I only used one monitor, I think I would give this 5 stars, but it doesn’t work with two monitors. The window switching panel is mostly obscured when it is called from the secondary monitor. Also, I can’t find a way to contact the developer to report this or get support. A little disappointing.
