Effecient - Simple yet powerful. I have a Mac Mini and I use heavy apps like Photoshop and this program does not slow down the computer. This is the first anti virus with any kind of real time protection to run this smoothly after my testing. With all the new trojans arriving, it is good to have this so I can know if what I download is safe or not. It detects Mac and Windows trojans, viruses, and even hack tools.
Didn’t Work - Didn’t even delete any virus it found and would not let me find it in my finder. $30 is a lot for something that doesn’t work properly.

Updates Failing, Otherwise Maybe Okay - I have been using Virus Scanner Plus for a while and I haven’t had any viruses that I am aware of. It tells me that my Mac is safe. However, over the past few months, updates have been failing on a regular basis. I keep getting pop-up messages telling me that updates for the application have failed. So, while it seems to be working otherwise, if updates are failing, then I think I’ll look around for another virus scanner. I hate error messages.
Didn’t see the difference with free version - The UI is quite outdated with the macOS Sierra, function is almost the same with the free version on the App Store except a continuous scan and web protection which consume system resource. If you don’t need them just download the free version to scan virus. $30 is much too expensive for the Plus as far as I can see.
