Effecient - Simple yet powerful. I have a Mac Mini and I use heavy apps like Photoshop and this program does not slow down the computer. This is the first anti virus with any kind of real time protection to run this smoothly after my testing. With all the new trojans arriving, it is good to have this so I can know if what I download is safe or not. It detects Mac and Windows trojans, viruses, and even hack tools.
Didn’t Work - Didn’t even delete any virus it found and would not let me find it in my finder. $30 is a lot for something that doesn’t work properly.

Better Than Dreaming My Mac is Virus-Proof - My first PC was a Radio Shack Model 3. I used it to calculate bond issues and analyze hydroelectric projects income streams. It was totally safe from viuses, hacking, spoofs, etc. I just took my floppy disk out when I was not using it and the machine was immediately brain dead. Then came the internet. Since then, safety is either dreamand or a constant plan of defense. No virus protection is perfect, but moderate protection is better than none. I’ve used Mac for almost twenty years now. I found the big anti-virus packages, origninally designed for MS, are just too intrusive. Virus Scanner Plus is pretty basic and relatively easy to live with. It does unobtrusively keep me informed of checks and changes. An example of living-with this virus scanner: I found it scanning my manual backup drive. This is a long process for a TB of data. And, the drive's data is entirely backup of data that has already been continuouslry scanned, encrupted and kept on a locked-away manual drive. So, I just switch virus scanning off during my weekly manual backup. One tap turns the scanning off for my weekly manual backup. Not perfect, but no big deal. (Virus Scanner Plus does not scan my daily backup drive which are automatically done via encrupted, passworded LAN.)
