"Asteroids" in Color - Having played Asteroids when it first came out over thirty years ago, I can recommend this game as being faithful to the original, albiet in color which adds to the effects. The ship rotates quickly, the thrust is smooth and the flying saucers still have deadly aim. Although this is only a 2-D game, it keeps me entertained when I feel like blasting large and small space rocks to bits. For the price versus the fun factor, I give it five stars. I'm using a MacBook Pro laptop with 4GB of memory and a 2.26 ghz processor. Snow Lepoard version 10.6.8

asteroids! but without the cool, ominous music... - this is the old game we know and love from the 80s. the rocks are colored in this version, which is a welcome addition. i will say the one thing that's really lacking and that i really miss was that ominous music from the original version- it really made you feel like you were alone in space. also, it took me a bit to figure out that the tab key is set up as the fire button, which was unusual and i wasn't expecting but you can change what does what in the preferences. the default are the arrow keys to soon/thrust, space to teleport, tab to shoot. i couldn't figure out what the pause key was, so i set that to 'enter'. i'll also say the jump from easy to medium is quite big. medium feels a good amount harder than the original arcade version. it gets pretty hectic. hard is…really hard. near impossible. add the old music and make medium and hard a little more manageable and i'd give this 5 stars. it's a simple, fun game and if you grew up with the old asteroids, it'll bring back memories.
