Listen to what some of the community are saying:
For those in the community concerned about the future, don't be. This is and will continue to be THE standard for virtual railroad world creation.
This is it! Ran "Fossil Fuels" all through to the end - runs perfect with draw distance 8000 m, shadows high. Not a jerk anywhere, smoooooooooth to quote Bob Hope! (...) Works tremendously well.
Now had a chance to run 2 of my routes with 15,000 draw distance. Each route ran over 30 minutes with no hesitations or pauses (...) the trains run very smoothly.
Looks great, performs well (...) another step closer to the dream of a fully functional and totally immersive railroad simulator that allows you to build the world of your dreams.

WASTE OF MONEY!!!! - First off the download takes for EVER! Once the game was installed onto my MAC the game was slow, then come to find out theres maybe 10 FREE maps that you can actually play the game without having to buy MORE maps. So i guess the $50 wasnt enough for the game. The in app purchasees are crazy expensive, I just dont understand why they charge $50 for the game it self then charge you to do anything fun in the game. Anyways, Im very disapointed in this game. So If you are reading this please dont waste your money on this game. Also if there is anyway i can get my money back please let me know!

It works but is very choppy. Don’t wast your money!! - I’ve had this game now for almost 8 months and had several issuses getting it to run due to TANE crashing during start up. I finally got it to work but the graphics are choppy and the Macbook is slow with tracking the engines at times. you might just be better off saving the money and traying something else. I still to this day regret downloading it.
Trains:A New Era - I have used Trainz Simulator Mac 2 for many years. Thought I more up to Trainz: A New Era. Worst decision I’ve made on software. I just bought a new Mac that has more than recommended. I runs terrible even in the lowest settings. Just wasted $40 thru the Apple App store.
Its worth it - Its a bit slow and you dont get a ton of routes, but it is really easy to download stuff from content manager & trainz DLS. Worth it defiantly.
GREAT GAME - i love it its to awesome for words
Running on a Macbook Pro 15” 2016 - Been playing this game for many years through many versions on PCs. It is running/working just fine on the MB. So far very stable and a minimum of herky jerky. Zero crashes. Refresh rate is decent. I found - so far - I have to run it on mostly the minimum screen displays or the EZ mode controls don't show on bottom. But still experimenting. Surveyor and driver both work the same as PC version. No problems with download or install. Pleasantly surprised.
