Fail - Melesta does nothing to prevent multiplayer cheating. The main two cheats circulating currently are “unlimited hearts cheat” and “unlimited money cheat”. DO NOT BUY STARS/COINS FROM MELESTA You will lose them to someone who cheats and there is nothing you can do about it. Melesta: BAN HACKERS!!!!!

Greedy developer - I really enjoyed Toy Defense WWI, but this game fails in two main ways: 1) The developer got too greedy. In WWI you can always earn what you need by playing. But in this game there are “coins” that buy often-needed functionality. You earn coins at a snail’s pace, but of course can buy them for real money. The game is free, so it’s not unreasonable to give the company some profit on a few in-app purchases. The problem is it never ends. You buy some coins, you progress some in the game but then need more coins. At some point, you have to say that you’ve spent what is fair, but the game just wants more and more. 2) Middle levels are just too hard. In WWI you could play it your way, distributing your forces, upgrading where needed as the level progressed. In this game, the later levels feel like there is one specific sequence that will work, and the goal is to find that one sequence. Start out wrong, and you’re just hosed, you don’t have the resources (money and/or squares) to be able to defeat all the enemies. ETA: To clarify what I mean by #2: In WWI, there is a sense that the game is playing fair; if the rounds are like a maze of passages, very few are dead ends.Throughout a level, you can adjust your strategy, the placement of new units, which units get upgraded and when, and still have a chance of winning. In this one, almost all of the passages are dead ends, meaning that after a few rounds there is nothing you can do to avoid losing. Your only option is to start completely over, again and again, until you narrow in on one of the few *correct* starting positions and the correct upgrade and new placement sequence.

The game no longer opens - I play this game most of the time on my iPad 3 running iOS 7. But on occasionally I play it on the Mac as well. What happened is, that under the Settings menu there’s a button (I believe it’s called “Profile”…?) that somehow allows you to link to points you have accumulated on the server on your other device. I don’t remember what the name of this button is on the Settings screen, because I no longer able to open the game to check it. Anyhow. When I clicked this button, a list view opened showing me various achieved scores on my other device. Apparently I can click on any of these scores to import them in to the Mac version of the game - I assume. I wasn’t sure what it’s for, so I clicked on the latest accumulated points that was achieved on my other device (iPad). At this point the app crashed. Now, it is no longer possible to open the game because it’s crashing with the crash dialog opening up.
