Description:

Touch is a term used to alter the dates of files and folders. This app will alter the creation and last modified date and time of files and folders. It can even process inside folders. Simply add files/folder via the toolbar button or by dragging and dropping them into the list or onto the application icon. Both files and folders can be added to the list, and you can choose to process them all, just files or just folders.

You can alter both the creation and/or modified dates, specify your own date, or use randomly generated dates. Using the application's Preferences dialog, you select what items you want to touch (files and folders, just files, just folders) from the pop-up menu. Then choose which dates you want to alter (creation date and/or last modified date).

Then you select what dates you want to use as new values. Using the pop-up menu you have these options:

Use current values - uses the current date and time from your Mac

To specific values - uses the time and date you specify in the available fields.

Randomly - provides you with 3 options:
1. Use any dates between 1970 and 2040
2. Use any dates from current date up to 2040
3. Use any dates from current date back to 1970

You can add files/folders by using the "Add" toolbar button, or by dragging and dropping them from other applications either onto the list (application's main window) or the application's icon in the dock.

Good enough. Could use some polish but at least it works! - I’m importing pictures from the file system into a library in Photos on a Mac. I hate Photo’s “Adjust Date and Time” function because you can’t set a group of files with different dates to the same date — only relative dates. This utility is almost exactly what I needed — since my pictures were organized on the filesystem in folders by date, I simply use this utility to select all the photos in one folder and changed them all to the correct date. (Generally speaking, the creation date of the files had the date I uploaded them, not the date the picture was taken. Plus if I had duplicated a photo, it would have the wrong date on it, etc.) One feature I would like to see if a prompt for the touch date when you click touch, rather than having to set it up before hand via the preferences. Overall, I’m quite happy, especially for the price.

I’d call that a bug. 2) A “remove all” button would be very helpful and can’t be that hard to add. 3) A bigger enhancement woiuld be to move the “specific time and date” settings from the preferences on to the main window, so you could just spin them and click the files you wanted to touch. But it does the job (except for “00”) and was cheap. UPDATE: You can’t change the date to the “31st” of a month. It sets is to the 1st of that month instead. Also, the “remove items from list when touched” option often results in the touch not working
