Pretty goodish - I would have given this 4 or 5 stars, but there doesn't seem to be a detail view for events. If it had that, I would rate it higher.
Okay, not great-Fantastical is much better - I searched for quite a while before finding this widget that supports Google Calendar--I was unable to find any other widgets, so went ahead and purchased. I've had it for over six months, but found I often used the website for Google Calendar because this widget was still remarkable unintuitive--the buttons were super tiny and I couldn't quickly view all appointments in a grid like I wanted, nor was it simple to create new events. A friend just showed me Fantastical and already I've found myself using if far more often. I strongly suggest reviewing screenshots to see what fits your workflow better.
Why no US holidays? - My old version crashed, so I paid for the update, hoping to see the US in the holiday list. No such luck. So as far as I’m concerned it’s overpriced at 1.99
Needs some tweaking - tinyCal is handy and it very nice to have the month, 2-month, 3-month horizontal and vertical views. There is also a full year view. However, the current 1.6 seems to have a significant bug at least on my system (10.8.4). If a multi-day even is entered, only the first day shows in the calendar as an event. This used to work in tinyCal (and still does in 1.4, but that version has other problems). Until this gets fixed, I will use fantastical, which is terrific if you are willing to settle for a one month view.
Quick access to a calendar - I basically use it pop up a calendar quickly. Works great, would like to have Julian Date. Also, the menu bar has a few bugs, a) today’s date does not appear correctly in the menu bar and b) in "Dark Menu bar and Dock" mode the icon is not correct.
