A game on the ipod/ipad converted into a mac game? - This game is what my title suggests, it was created first for the ipod/ipad then converted into a mac game. Now for the price it isn't that bad of a game. That being said, there is one major problem for me: The Graphics. It is a fun and difficult game but the graphics are truly lacking. Maybe there could be an update to fix this issue? The terrain looks terrible and the icons for the GEARS are a little difficult to tell what type of unit they are. Also the tutorial isn't integrated well into the game. Now that the truth is out there, I want to point out the redeeming parts of the game. This game is long and def. worth the money. The leveling up of the characters is fun if not simple and managing items makes you want more. The characters are interesting and unique. There are a few gramatical errors in the dialogue but they can be easily overlooked. The characters' interaction with each other are amusing and slightly cheesy. The gameplay is what you could expect from your standard strategic role playing game. Move this unit here and attack/defend/evade. There are some challenging levels here that make this classic formula difficult. With the difficulty and different story progession choices, this game is def. worth a look at. I'm still going through my second/third playthrough! Have fun with this wonderful story of a ragtag group of mechanical fighters!

Great game, but could use some improvement. - I really do like this game, but I think there needs to be some more customization of the GEARS to make it worth 10 dollars, such as the selection of different attacks or of different "specials". Additionally, some of the dialogue doesn't seem natural, especially because there just aren't enough contractions to make it flow like normal speech. I get that Luke is supposed to be nobility and formal, but even nobility use contractions sometimes. If you add the ability to resize the window in addition to the previous things, my rating will go all the way up to 5 stars.

As a fire emblem player for years... - I find this game impressive. This game is harder than some Fire Emblem games and about as long and fun. Graphics may be outdated, but that does not interfere with the gameplay at all. The writing for this game is almost never dull and always leads to a good story regardless of path. Unit customization is well- fleshed out and quite intruiging at times. That being said, there are some downsides to be considered if this game is played. First off, there are some secrets that probably shouldn't be(I'm trying to avoid spoilers so not quite going into their nature, and besides guides are easy enough to find). Secondly, there seems to be a lot of anticlimax at many beginning missions, but that's something that is part of my personal game flow beliefs. If you want a strategy game with exceptional graphics, try a console Fire Emblem game. If you want an incredible experience at a low price, BUY THIS GAME. If strategy games aren't your thing, you might want to try something slightly less complex first, though. Tl;dr: Graphics: 3/5, but for this kind of game I really don't care about them. Story initial: 4/5. It just gets too cliche at times. Story from halfway on: 6/5. Difficulty: 4/5. Humor: 4.5/5. Gameplay: 4.5/5 Price: 4.5/5. End rating:8/10, buy it.

Great game, BUT - Please fix the hit percentages. The hit percentages are unfavorably unbalanced towards the AI. I am near the end of the game but there have been MULTIPLE incidents on four of my turns I had 90% or more chance to hit and I missed all four times. The enemy had 30% and below and hit me 3 out of four times( AND TWO OF THOSE WERE ON A 5%). This is also a issue on missions such as "A Power, God-like", where Ignar Trakis can instant kill you with one of his stronger attacks and full force, he did multiple times in a row WHEN HE HAD LESS THAN A TEN PERCENT CHANCE TO HIT. I love this game but please make the hit percentages seem like what they actually are.
