"What might at first seem like a straightforward 2D puzzle-platformer is in fact a clever throwback to classic point-and-click adventures of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s."
(4 stars) - MacLife
"It is a very enjoyable brain teaser that attempts to push the boundaries of the genre in its own, mysterious way." (4 stars) - OneClickMac

Entertaining, thought provoking, and darkly humorous - I don’t play a lot of games, but this is certainly one of the best I have found on the Mac App store. The graphics are lovely and the story line devilishly fun and wicked and, at times, thought provoking. It brings back very fond memories of adventure games of the past. Because you only bring three characters into the cave at a time, and different areas of the cave become available depending on the characters you enter with, the game can be replayed multiple times with new areas becoming accessible. The platforming elements can sometimes be a bit annoying (especially when you have to run back and forth between items/switches), if only because the control of the characters is not perfect; but this is something that does not detract from the game. Many of the puzzles are not terribly difficult -- but are very satisfying non the less. Not sure why people are giving this one star -- it seems like people may have trouble actually getting the game to start -- you need to pick your three characters and walk them into the cave (after you have opened the entrance, that is, with an object found nearby).
Doesn't run on MacBook Pro Retina - Downloaded it, ran it the first without any problems. Saved the game and exited. Ran it again and it doesn't work. First, it would hang while trying to load, had to kill it several times. App Store said there was an update, 1.2 gig download. Downloaded it twice, not sure that the downloads did anything, running the program again, it actually loaded, but the video was never in sync, it would update if I "escaped" into the menu, but in general, the game does not run. My computer is a new MBP Retina.

Great fun - I have been a fan of adventure and puzzle games like this one, since the days of Infocom and text-only games. This game is as enjoyable, or more, than many classics I have played int he past, such as Zork or Myst, although the puzzles are much simpler. The controls are super-easy, so I don’t understand why people complain about them. You just use a few keys to control almost everything: Numbers 1-2-3 to select a character, arrows to move it, space bar to jump, c to grab/release objects or let go when you are hanging form a rope or an edge, e to engage with or activate an object, and q to invoke the powers of the character you are controlling. That’s it. The only thing I don’t know how to do with the mouse is make a character push/pull a movable object. You can use the mouse to move as well, but I don’t like it. The graphics and music are great, and the narration is very funny. My girlfriend and I are having a great time playing this game together.
GET THIS GAME - seriously the best game i've downloaded on my Mac. I have very short patience and attention span for games, but i played this whole game all the way through. You get to mix it up by picking different characters every time. It's so fun, funny, and makes you think! Granted, i did look up some walkthroughs on my phone when i got stuck, but I love this game. DOWNLOAD THIS IMMEDIATELY. YOU WONT REGRET IT
Loved this! - While I can understand some of the reviews that are critical because of the controls of this game, just go to the menu when you first start and click “help” it gives you all the controls for whatever device you’re playing on so you don’t have to waste time figuring them out. This game was awesome! Fun, great theme of adventure and insight. Replayable with different characters and their individual levels. Buy this, you won’t regret it.
SO cute!! - I love the narrators voice and the dialogue is hilarious. It fits. The characters are really adorable, my fav is the twins. The setting and graphics are amazing and beautifully done. However I have no idea how to play this game. I get as far as the underground flaming monster who kills you and the snack area on lower lower level, no fuses. Searching around the forum and web for a hint or walk thru. Any suggestions?
The Cave - This version works fine on my Mac running OS 10.10.2. Game is fun to look at the the sound track is entering. Just finished my first run thru. As you change characters the game adds new bits you haven’t been thru before. As i find with many games of this type, for me anyway, some of the puzzles can not be solved or the game completed without a walk thru. Doesn’t hurt my feelings to resort to this kind of help, just a fact. Also a pleasure not having to deal with the need to collect stars/flowers/bones, etc. in order to advance thru. I’d buy it again and recommend it. :)
