Text2Speech PRO is a text to speech utility !
Text2Speech PRO can help you export sound to AIFF, MP3 !
It is very easy to change the speaking rate, or to start, stop, pause, continue and select different voice. Meanwhile, Text2Speech PRO can export sound to AIFF, MP3 file and add to iTunes.

Does what it says, and does it well - I didn't use this for anything heavy-duty. I needed to record a message to my voicemail, and outputting thru my computer speakers weren't cutting the mustard. Since this program exports text-to-speech directly into a mp3 or aif file, there is no loss in quality. I had read that you could use Terminal to do this, but couldn't get it to work. Even if I could get it to work, this is a much simpler process. Definitely worth the $3. I also learned something about Lion from the blurb describing this software - new voices! Two of the voices introduced in Lion are awesome, but they're not installed by default. Even if you don't buy this program, you should download the new voices - they're head and shoulders above the older ones.
Problematic - I purchased this app specifically because it said that it will read TXT, RTF and DOC files. This was helpful because I wanted to automate converting txt files to audio using a folder action. Unfortunately, when you try and “launch” a txt file into Text2speech Pro, it tells you that TXT files are not supported. However, if you manually use file/open to open a text file, it works. This is a significant bug. The last update for this software was August 2013. I went to the author’s web page, and he no longer has any information about the app, leading me to beleve it has basically been abandoned by the author, with no hope of support or bug fixes coming down the pipeline. I haven’t worked with it enough to see if there are any other significant bugs, because without that use case, it is not functional for me. That said, there are other reviews with people that have problems with the app, and I doubt they will ever see a new version.

Use for college - I use this when I have a ton of reading to do for my college classes. I’m a little ADD and this is so helpful when I want to do a little multitasking or write a paper. I just copy and paste from my online text reading and it’s great, it automatically skips graphics, etc. The only thing downside I will say is that you need to listen carefully sometimes because of the monotone way it repeats the words sometimes you can get a different meaning of a sentence. Sometimes I will read a sentence or something if it doesn’t make sense. But, otherwise I really love this app.
excellent, simple - I used this for a few months now. it works well, it is simple and exports to iTunes!
Technically okay. Aesthetically terrible. - This app does what it says it does. It reads text and exports it (as well as other technical support features). But if you want the read-back to sound something other than completely abominable (as every automated voice from Macintosh is), look elsewhere. I immediately regretted this purchase. But, if you don’t care how it sounds, then go for it.
Robot Voice - If you are expecting this to sound less robotic than other text-to-speech software then don’t waste your money. Sounds just like a robot.
Excellent app! - I use this app to help as a study aid, and it’s a charm. One of my best additions to my app library. And worth every penny!
