Cheap and sloppy - This is basic guitar method course for beginners or experienced players who need to learn to read music. The course itself isn’t bad, but the software is awful. It appears to be an old Shockwave application that was pooped out into Mac software. Navigating through the software is a pain. The main menu links to every video lesson, and each time you switch lessons you have to switch back to the sheet music. Music is shown with tablature and standard notation by default, and you can turn off either one, but it resets each time you change to another lesson. Looping the sheet music/backing track is possible, but the button is bugged and has to be reset for each lesson even though it remains on. The worst part of the software are the backing tracks. They sound like bad midi tracks or chip tunes. And every menu, video, and lesson is an advertisement for Schecter and Daisy Rock guitars. It’s so blatant that it’s irritating. Alfred Music should be ashamed of themselves for selling this junk, and Apple should be ashamed for approving it for the app store.
