Convert your video to H.265!
- Reduce the file size of your videos without loss of quality: you can easily divide by 2 or 3 the file size of your videos without sacrifying quality
- That means putting much more videos on your portable media player
- Uses all of your computer's processing power when converting
- Highest quality converter
- Extremely easy to use!
- Just drag & drop your videos and it will convert them all automatically
- Keep all audio tracks and subtitles tracks
- Limit the conversion speed if you are not in a hurry and do not want your laptop to heat
*** Native support for H.265 requires iOS 11, macOS High Sierra, or a 4th generation Apple TV. On older macOS versions, you can simply use VLC (http://videolan.org)
- Fixed an issue preventing conversion of videos with an odd number of horizontal or vertical pixels
- Added automatic detection of interlaced videos and deinterlacing

I had no problems with it. - I dopped several movies to test out. On the recommended setting there were some glitchy artifacts and loss of texture, but on high quality preset I didn’t notice too much difference between it and the large mp4 file. It took a 3gb file down to a 500mb file. if you don’t mind some artifacts or are going to be watching on a small screen the recommended setting took the 3gb file down to about 300mb.
Doesn’t appear to work... - I have tried this with several 1080p @60fps files and the converstion is quick but results in a s265 file of only zero bytes. The orginal files were encoded with H.264. It does work for smaller video files (e.g. 640x360). Assuming this is a bug?

The true app for H265/HEVC - I tried all other apps who claim to encode in H265 (including expensive ones like MacX or iMedia Skysoft), and while some of them indeed work with raw videos or raw mkv, not a single one of them works if your video file has a subtitle. This is the only app that keeps your subtitle intact and it correctly encodes to H265 saving precious storage while keeping your subtitle. I’m glad I finally found one app that do this! Update: Converted some more videos here, and I’m really impressed about the compression ratio, this is true HEVC/H265 technology! Most videos went from 600mb to between 200mb to 300mb, which is mindblower. The sources were already heavily compressed through H264, and this encoder retains a very good quality while saving a lot of storage. I’m really happy that this app exists!
Does not work for me - I am on a MBP 2012 running 10.12.6. Super265 runs slow on my computer, once the conversion is complete, It will not play correctly in iTunes [has audio but no video] and does not play in QuickTime, [QuickTime error message: The file isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player]. Save your money, this program still has to many bugs.
First conversion I tried failed - Purchased. Downloaded. Opened the app, dropped a .mp4 onto it (I didn’t change any settings). It was “converted”, but it doesn’t play?
Can’t do .WMV? - First two conversions I tried failed. Is .WMV considered “exotic”??!! Disappointed to say the least, v. 1.0.9. I will add that I have had excellent success with their other products, such Mac DVD Ripper PRO AND Mac Video Ripper PRO!
Quirky but does work - I have 1500 movies recorded with an EyeTV 200. This format requires two GB/hour and is an mpg2 format. If the EyeTV package is dropped onto Super265 everything works correctly. If a selection of packages is dropped, Super265 insists that the format is unsupported. Also, if the package is opened, the mpg file cannot be dropped onto Super265. So, I cannot effectively utilize the program today but the underlying technology is sound. Just needs to be cleaned up.
