Built on our older code base, you’ll still find this a capable 3D modeling and rendering app. For more advanced features like Boolean & skin modeling, anisotropic reflections, faster rendering – and more – choose Design 3D SE 7. If you want to add animation with features like motion blur, shatter, explode – plus advanced subdivision surfaces – choose Design 3D CXi. Click on the icons to the right for more info on our other products.

If you're new to 3D and want to get started with a product that's easy to use and very affordable, and you don't feel you need all the cool features in our other products – and if you don't mind using an older, more dated interface – then this version of Design 3D SE might be right for you. You'll still find lots of great features, and once you learn this user interface you'll have an easy time moving up to Design 3D SE 7 or Design 3D CXi.

Enchanted by a good product and good value! - I needed a 3D solution for web work and to export models and simple scenes into other graphic software apps. As far as I can tell, the animation modules are what's been left out, but there is still quite a lot in the way of models (several dozen pre-made for immediate use), textures (again dozens pre-made) and a simple, easy to navigate GUI for those of us who need a graphical interface to orient themselves in the 3D environment. For the $49.99 you get Strata's entry-level modeling capabilities, an easy-to-use introduction to the world of 3D plus the models and textures, as well as a highly developed customer support system with free and paid tutorials available. There are options to upgrade at any time to Strata's higher level CX applications, which I will eventually do given the quality of this fine little app.

Laggy and SLOW…. - I upgraded to the FULL version 7.5 and sadly it’s equally slow and lagging. Crashes all the time and I have 32GB RAM?!!!!! Apparently the software has a glitch / or flaw, to only use 3.5GB Ram max, seriously lame!!!!

Great but... - This program is great but, the video tutorials are all at additional expense. I was looking for a simple program to do some simple design work with that I could get up and running with quickly. I'm very good at using graphic design software, of course this is not for graphics, but I just want a quick way to get up and learn the basic tools. But going to the developers website all of the video training is at additional charge I have to become a member and pay a fee to learn how to use the software. This is discouraging. I have no idea how good the videos are. I just want to get up and going quickly with little fuss I wish they made the basic training on the videos accessible to people who bought the software. Doesn't seem like too much to ask. In the trash bin it goes.

I like it, but there is room for improvement - I like this program as I can generate some nice-looking images and 3d text with it. However, there is room for improvement. For instance, the zooming is somewhat user-unfriendly. Especially zooming out. I’d definitely like it if the mouse wheel could zoom in/out. Also, I suspect I have run into more than a few bugs. For instance, right when the program starts up, I think it says something like “Available cores: 8”. I think my machine only has one processor with 4 cores, so I’m pretty sure that must be a bug.
