THE second screen Mac app - I'm not a professional trader, but I like to stay educated on market trends to keep my eTrade account humming along. I'm a big fan of the iPad version of this app and always intended to use it as a sort-of second screen ambient monitor to understand what's going on throughout the day. The problem is, my iPad is never where it is supposed to be (I work from home). So, I was happy when I launched the AppStore to update some apps and noticed that StockTouch app was featured by Apple. I have a MacBookPro, but also have a 27 inch Cinema Display. My MacBookPro display is usually empty, but now I keep StockTouch open on that screen and it is awesome. I can (and do!) glance over occasionally and get a complete overview of the market (why didn't I get into Health Care stocks earleir???). Consider me a very satisfied customer. In the spirit of continuous improvement, I would make only one suggestion to the developers: Some of settings on the right-hand side of the window are difficult to see on my notebook display. As an iPad user, I have the interface memorized, but you might want to make it a tiny bit brighter for new users. Please keep up the great work!

Miserable iOS Port, Crashes Instantly - This is the first app I have ever purchased which is completely rubbish out of the box. Waste of $5. It crashes on launch, the dock icon is WAY to big, and the interface is a direct port of the iOS app. In short, the developers obiously didn't pay attention to the details, or do anythign to optimize this for a completely different device. They didn't even make sure it worked before pushing the software to Apple. Get on your game folks, and get it fixed. This is amateur.

Excellent!! - I’ve been working with stock trading idea-generation software for 15 years and Stocktouch is really excellent. Adding the Hot List and our own 9 Watchmaps doubles it’s utility. I find more interesting ways to glean information from the app every day.

Needs a few updates - Don’t get me wrong this is a good app. There are just a few things it needs before it’s a great app. As far as features go I have no complaints but it would be great if the app was updated to work more seamlessly with OS X. I’m running El Capitan on a rMBP13 and the top of the screen gets clipped if I go fullscreen. This isn’t too much of an issue but the ability to fill my screen is more appealing than the default 7/8ths of the desktop it’s chosen for me. And if I gesture to zoom in to a company it picks one a fews rows off. The overall feel of the app is fine but if it were updated with a more modern UI, that tied in better with OS X, it would feel less like a ported iPad app from years past. If it was a free app it would be one thing but having paid for it an update to a more seamless experience is in need.

Good but needs improvement - Purchased this app off the editor’s choice rating. Works well, with the exception of full screen, which will not allow you to use the icons on the right to navigate, only the menu bar functions. This is a deal breaker…Why have a 27” retina iMac if you cannot use the app in full screen? Can someone please fix this? Otherwise, it is a beautifully designed app.
