You must locate and finally collect the missing passport, traveling money, key and secret plans before making your way to the airport door to board your plane - all before time runs out -all while placing booby-traps for your opponent, avoiding or defusing those set by him and engaging in club-to-club combat.
~~~~~ And the critics love it! ~~~~~
"Robots & Pencils have done a great job bringing a classic game over to iOS and fans of the original will be able to jump right back in the action with fresh visuals that only add to the original experience. For those players, it's a game that really lends itself to the pick-up and play style, and quick levels make it perfect for gaming on the go. The tutorial also makes it easy for someone who's never played Spy vs Spy to get started, laying out the details without taking too long. Overall, the game looks and plays great and anyone ready for a new iOS game to sink their teeth into should definitely check it out later this summer." - MTV Geek!
""For retroheads, this new iOS version looks set to bring back some warm and fuzzy memories, as - while it may sport upgraded graphics and new touch controls - it's effectively the same game you remember bashing away at on your C64 or ZX Spectrum." - Pocket Gamer
"These features and the strategic gameplay make Spy vs. Spy a fantastic remake and expansion of a classic game. Now, if we could just remember where we put that furshlugginer bomb..." - slide to Play
Even works with iOS for multiplayer - I love the controls on this, far better than on my Atari 800 I played it on.
Terrible on a 13" Macbook Pro - Worst $5 ever spent. No full screen mode, and I can't see the whole game even with the dock hidden. I'm not very happy with this purchase.
More Reviews for Current Version
It Is What It Is. - I’m seeing some bad reviews from some people who don’t seem to realize what this game is. I had this game on my Commodore 64 back in the late 80s and early 90s, and my brother and I used to play it all the time. It isn’t entirely challenging — you set traps for each other, which the other person can see you doing, and you just generally try to out-maneuver the other player to the end — but it was enjoyable all the same. So they’ve released an updated version, like a lot of developers have been doing lately, and it’s… well, it is what it is. It’s a Commodore 64 game from 1984. Some people complain that it isn’t full screen but, mind you, on a C64 screen you’re working with an effective resolution of 160x200. That would look, er, poor on a modern machine. Sure, maybe there’s a “modern” mode, but I’m betting that most of the people that are buying this are buying it for the 80s nostalgia rather than cutting edge, state-of-the-art gameplay. It’s Spy vs Spy, and it’s the exact same game it was in 1984. That’s why I bought it, and why it’s worth the five bucks.
