Been using this for years - I've been a fan of SplashID since I had it on my Palm back in the day. Yes, I'm old. When versoin 7 came out, there were some hiccups, but cloud sync is so convenient and works well for me. If you're not into putting your passwords in the cloud, I get that, but they have a local WiFi sync option, which is the same thing it has done for years. They also have a no sync option if you don't sync with the iPhone app. Pros: Simple UI, easy sync, good customer support Cons: Browser plugin is still in development for version 7
Poor Customer Service, Poor Synching Integration - I have used this product for years and even purchased a lifetime license with the promise of being able to use the software on all of my devices. I recently ran into a problem where the web client would not take my password and therefore needed to reset my account. That’s where all the fun started and I lost access to my data. Repeated emails to customer service were returned with less than helpful instructions and of course there was no phone number or online chat help offered. I am very disappointed in what I thought was a great company dedicated to their customers. The software was always ok, with the latest version having all sorts of bugs and issues. I was willing to deal with that but I am not willing to accept poor customer service. Dealing with a problem for 3 weeks with no answers is not acceptable. I have now purchased and am using 1PW and I can clearly see why so many people have switched. Maybe you should check out that software before you get stuck with poor customer service.

I second last review - happy to change if I can get some support! - My complaint is almost identical to the last reviewer, I have been using this program since my Palm years. It was my favorite and most trusted app - never failed me through many platform changes and migrations and recommended it to tons of friends through the years. Last week I was syncing from MacAir to iPhone when the apps crashed on both All data lost on both devices. I attempted a restore from one of many backups and the program claimed I was using an incorrect PW - no way was that possible as I have used same PW to access for years. I have been receiving 1 - 2 emails a day from the "higher tier support” after my initial contacts in did nothing to resolve the problem. This is utter nonsense - I need the program to work NOW - I don’t have time to work on it for 3 minutes, discover it still not fixed, whip off another email and await the very slow reply which might not come until tomorrow. I have lost a ton of very important data and no one is helping me recover it. USELESS CUSTOMER SUPPORT SO FAR - customers need help in person, right now, not when it’s convenient for the company. Happy to change this review when some resolution is reached. Meanwhile, based on this terrible support experience, I would advise against purchasing Splash products.
Bad, don't buy - I used SplashID for years and it was great. I don't know what they've done, but whatever it is they now have terrible cutomer service and a terrible product. They get back to you when they feel like it, with unhelpful information. I had bought their Lifetime All Access application for the Mac, iPad, and iPhone applications and all was running smoothly until one day, a few weeks ago, without warning I got a message that my password was incorrect. It was NOT -- that was the password I'd been using on all Splash apps for months. Ever since then nothing they've suggested has worked and they can't even open my back up files. AFter I complained one too many times they stopped getting back to me. I've been forced to use another password keeper and regenerate all new files - What a waste of time and money.
disasterous app - I’ve used this app for years. It was great at first, but as versions have been upgraded, I’ve had more problems with file corruptions. Recent updates have totally screwed up my database. I’ve spent hours trying to repair records one by one, not always being able to identify what was a serial number vs a password etc, only to have the database revert to it’s screwed up icons, missing categories, field names and values all miss-mashed. I’ve tried log-out/reset to get the cloud version at least onto the desktop version only to have the databases different (no categories on the desktop when there are categories on the cloud data). I’ve tried importing the backups that I have diligenntly saved frequently only to have them not able to import (password not accepted). Hours and hours wasted. The only solution is a total restart with a new app which will take an incredible amount of time and the data that I’ll never recover.
needs fix - With the update all my icons are a mess. Also there is a problem with your password containing numbers if you type the numbers using their phone like numbers in the login page. You need to type the numbers with your keyboard or the ios keyboard. If you dont do that it wont recognize your numbers and inform you its a wrong password. This is a great app,but everytime we have an update it seems they have problems. Its better to wait some months before downloading any update.Also support is non existing. other than that its a good app…probably in the wrong hands of administrators.
Don’t buy this version until they fix the MAJOR bugs! - I’ve been using SplashID for several years. Everything was fine for the most part when I was using WiFi sync. When I upgraded to their “Cloud” based sync service, I’ve had nothing but trouble. I came close to loosing my entire data set. First, instead of syncing, it duplicated records. I would go in to update a field then go in to update it again and it looked like the change wasn’t made. It was made, just on the one or two copies of the same record. The thing that really hurt was that my records became corrupted to the point where I couldn’t open the iPad, iPhone or Mac version of SplashID. They would immediately crash the minute I started the app. The only way I got my data back was to log into their web site and manually type my records into the new password manager I bought to replace SplashID. I’ve been trying to work with their support but they keep telling me to delete the program and reinstall it. If it didn’t fix the problem the first 10 times, what makes them think that reinstalling it an 11th time will fix the problem? I’ve been e-mailing tech support back and forth for most of the month. The Pro edition said I would get support. One of the e-mails said they would refer me to a higher level of support. I’m still told to delete and reinstall. Useless!
