Shuttles are soon to be only museum pieces, but you can still relive the thrill of space flight!

This app shows about 900 unique images of American space flight from the NASA archives, divided into 10 groups covering the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, Shuttle, and Space Station programs. (Some images appear in more than one group.)

Captions, all from NASA, are extensive: almost 100,000 words in all.

An internet connection is required.

All of these images were taken from NASA's "Great Images in NASA" website. However, this app presents the images in a more logical order, integrates the extensive captions to show alongside the images, and allows easy browsing and slideshows.

You can view images in a grid, or extra-large (almost full-screen), or see a slideshow. You can also order a print.

just what I wanted - This app combines two of my favorite things- space and photography. The pictures are great- high res and perfectly composed. A very affordable app indeed. A few suggestions- - I would love to have the ability to favorite certain photos so that I can quickly reference them when I wish. - On pictures with extensive descriptions, could you cut off the captions at a reasonable point and have a "see more" link or something so that you can skim over the photos more easily? Other than that, it is a great app that's offered for an affordable price. I love it. Thank you!
