Drop audio files on this app, and they automatically appear with their metadata attached in Final Cut Pro 7. The app can also make ALE files for import to Avid Media Composer.
The supported audio formats are AIFF, MP3 and MPEG4-Audio (m4a). Songster uses Spotlight to read the same metadata that you see in iTunes, so be sure to turn on Spotlight for the drives that hold your audio files.
Currently WAV files are not supported, because they do not work with Spotlight.
Minor bug fix, app store compatibility enhancement

Great Time Saver for an Assistant Editor - I've been using Songster since version 1, and it continues to be a great piece of software that saves me a lot of time. In the course of my job, I am quite often given a large batch of mp3s and m4a files to import and label. In the past, this was a very time consuming process to manually enter this information. When mistakes are made in this information, it can be very costly to a show. Songster quickly and reliably grabs the information already in those mp3s and gives me an ALE that I can import into an Avid bin and then batch import the files with all their metadata filled in. I only use the Avid portion of the program, and I only use "file name" for the name field. This allows me to select all of the files in the batch import window and once I match up the first one, the rest fall into line. (drag all files into one big folder for easiest batch importing) I had an issue once and got a response very quickly that was helpful.

A great app, but sometimes crashes my Avid on ALE import - Can’t say why. It must be something in the odd character names or something. But that shouldn’t happen. Otherwise it’s a great tool.
