At last, relaxing, restful sleep ! - Greetings from the People’s Republic of Brooklyn Because of sleep apnea I use a full face CPAP mask to sleep. The CPAP machine is noisy and connected by air hoses to an even noisier oxygen concentrator. Using the sleep pillow app has been remarkably helpful in aiding me to fall to sleep effortlessly. The sound of rain forest and thunder storm are perfect for me. I tried the app because I was impressed by a reviewer who explained that it help her overcome distracting tinnitus, which I also experience. I may go to bed looking like Darth Vader but I now sleep like a contented babe. I had become rather resigned to becoming an insomniac, but; I’m using the app to help me develop healthier sleep habits. I think it work well for meditating during the day too. It’s wonderful to awake from a good night’s sleep. Thanks for the app and the truthful reviews.

Slowwwww Down - Did any of the sound designers consider making these sounds actually relaxing? The sound effects cycle so fast and so loud that it’s impossible to relax to. Yes, seagulls are part of an ocean soundscape. But you don’t lay on a beach and relax to a swarm of seagulls screeching in your ear. SLOW DOWN. This is coming from someone who listens to noise for fun. Every single one of these themes is a chaotic mess that makes you more antsy than you were when you sat down. Please get a clue.

Be Still the Raging Insomnia! - Worrying about not being able to sleep, only added to the pain and stress that was already keeping me awake for days on end. I stopped focusing on anything to do with sleep and asked my body to allow me to rest so I could heal. When I stopped demanding sleep from myself, the stress fell off me like a pair of pants 5 sizes to big for me. An hour or two before I want to unwind, I put the Sleep Pillow app on in the back ground, of whatever else I’m doing. This helps me enter a more relaxed state. Even if I do not achieve sleep, the rythmic sounds of nature lull me into a restorative resting state. Pain eases up and my mind slows down. When I do doze off for 10-20 minutes, I wake feeling like I slept for hours, because I stopped stressing out over not being able to sleep. I gave my body permission to do whatever it needs to do. All, I asked, of myself, is that I achieve enough rest for my body to heal, so I can function and live my life. I’m still a severe insomniac, but I am much calmer, more productive and much, much happier. Thanks for this little app. It is helping me take the first steps toward sleep fitness.

Great background noises when working! - I am the type of person that needs to have some sort of background noise when I am working. i usually turn the radio on or the tv, but I often get more distracted than I should and that has definitely gotten me into trouble before. With this app, there are plenty of noise options, and with almost any of them I feel way more relaxed and productive than with the radio or tv on. I just get in the zone and do my work. I haven't tried it yet for falling asleep to, but I can already picture myself sleeping to the stream sound, or the thunder/storm sound. It's a great app. period.

My favorite all of all time! - I love this app! I have a busy sechdule at college and sometimes get a lot of homework. This gets me to be very stressed out at times, causing me to have a bad night’s sleep as well as daily stress. This app has solved that problem! Everytime I get stressed out, I listen to this app and my stress starts to melt away! One sugesstion I would give is letting users be able to sync their mixes back and forth through iCloud or Email. It would make it a lot eaiser to have both their mixes on idevice and mac without manually looking back and forth on both device to to be able to have all mixes on both devices. Thanks for making this beautiful app!

It’s okay. Just “okay" - I used a free website to generate noise for myself to sleep to. I decided to look for an app so that I could sleep to noise when offline, and not have to have Flash installed. The best noise to sleep to is brown noise, but that’s not an option here. There’s also no way to add custom noises, so if you want brown noise, you’re out of luck. You also can not play more than one noise at a time. I prefer to have brown noise and rain noise at the same time, oscillating at different frequencies. This only plays one selected noise. The developers have preselected noises that they’ve combined into one, but you’re limited by what they’ve already combined. Also, since they’ve changed the two noises into one, you can’t have them with different settings (volumes, end times, etc.) The alarm sounds are mostly nice, I think you’ll find one you like and just stick with that, but there’s still no ability to add your own. Go with what they have, that’s your only option.

Really Soothing - The ambiance helps me relax, study, fall asleep, etc. My only issue is that a few of the tracks sound too artificial. It might help to focus less on getting a clean, isolated sound and more on what the real thing would sound like. Make the experience more realistic. Other than that, it's great!
