Perfect, Makes Screen Darker - This makes the screen darker, as it says even using the default scale BUT, what makes this app GREAT, is that it gets DARKER than the default minimum brightness, so no, you can't just use the keyboard buttons.

Fantastic for those sensitive to light - I take medication that make my eyes very sensitive to light. The lowest dim setting was still way too bright. I installed this and I am able to dim it to the perfect brightness for me. Installation was quick and easy. Exaclty what I needed and without the high price of adding a screen filter.

Crashes on OS X 10.6.8 - Shady crashes on my Snow Leopard system (segmentation fault). The website looks pretty dead, so there's not a lot of hope for an improvement. Worth what I paid, though.

Perfect - I have used several other apps that “dim” the screen or change the tint so that it is easier on the eyes, but Shady is the only app I’ve used so far that dims/darkens the screen enough. If you’ve ever woken up and tried to read the bright Apple display only to be “blinded by the light,” Shady is for you. If you have a nagging partner that can’t fall asleep because your screen is too bright, Shady is for you. If you just can’t stand to constantly stare into the sun itself, Shady is the app for you. Thanks Shady for making a functional app that is easy to use and gets the job done. My eyes appreciate it!
