Great Game - A pretty awesome game that allows you to learn and improve your technique. I preferred sailing against other boats instead of the clock and wish there were more segements like that. As a long time sailor I appreciated the detail and difficulty. One of the best games I have right now.

Great, Simple Sailing Sim - I recently took up sailing, and this game is perfect for the enthusiast who can't get out sialing much, but wants to get the feel of the tacking and trimming skills. Beautifil graphics, simple controls and gameplay, and nice upgrade system. Recommended.
should - I was so excited to see a sailing sim written for Mac I jumped on this. I guess it's OK, but not realistic in any real-world sense of the word. It plays like an arcade game. The boat you start out with is unlike any boat I've ever sailed: this thing makes some Donzi's look bad. An FD will plane to windward, but this thing flies on all points of sail. Has the speed characteristics of a three-point hydro, but looks sorta like a Flying Scot with a cabin. Anyway, I'm still looking for a "real-world" sailing/racing sim running under OSX. This is probably a good alternative to Solitaire, but it's no sailing sim. Oh, and there are no other boats! (when has THAT ever happened to you on the water? LOL)
Challenging fun - ...and hard to stop playing. I would like to see this for the iPad and also the option to slow it down so that you can adjust the sail at a more measured pace.
Love this Game! - I don't care much about sailing but find myself liking the simplicity of the controls on this game... easy to use, quick levels and beautiful graphics! Great pick-up-where-you-left off game for busy people who don't have hours to play games. Stunning graphics on my HD monitor!
Great Trainer for Landlubbers (and those with disabilities, like me) - This is truly a fantastic game. I bought it on one of the first days it became available, and have loved it! It's simple, sparse directions (in Help) give sailing basics to you straight, without embellishment. It's either pay attention, or drift! ***For those with hand-dexterity disabilities*** I'm a guy with spinal cord injury quadriplegia (C5), so I started (and suggest the same) the game by checking the "Hire a Sailor" option. This was great, allowing me to focus first (using the arrow keys) on getting my bearings, steering-wise (how to sail up-, down- and cross-wind). Without the initial need to manage sail trim (the hired sailor does this), the focus is on learning how to manage the boat, and not on interfacing my body with the software. Later, I set my Kensington Trackball Expert Mouse pointer to Single-Axis Movement, and thereby could manage the trim by clicking on the visible line (rope) and moving the Trackball up-down with one hand, while continuing to steer using the arrow keys with my right hand. Now, THAT was when it really began to give the feeling of sailing! I used to sail before my injury, and though I've gone to several coastal sailing programs in the US, the boats couldn't quite let me do it all, boat-wise. Using the trackball & left-right arrow keys, the software was amazingly successful at imparting the VISCERAL feeling of being on a boat. Astounding! ************************************************ By the way, Devil's Doom (see Boat Selector) is a whole lot of fun. Suggestion for all users: play some Jimmy Buffet while playing... Suggestion for developers: I think at the advanced levels, you might tack on a penalty of extra time when boats collide with each other... Down the road, it would be great to play this via the web, against other players... Just a thought...
