SRT Creator lets you create SRT files for video captions by making it easy to combine your video and your text transcript files. There are other utilities that let you edit the SRT once it's created but I found none that make the initial creation very easy.

Added support for m4v video files.

Worked great twice and then crashes - Well I about jumped out of my skin when I found this. And, to it's regard, this little tool was exactly what I needed to make my government videos for the Department of Veterans Affairs 508 compliant. So, I just announced to my staff that I can now produce 508 compliance (closed captioned) protocols because of this tool and it was to shave days off of this process that now takes only an hour or so to perfrom using this App. So why am I bummed? Because it hard crashes every time I import a movie file now. I successfully used it twice to close caption two videos and now it simply will not work. To the author of this app...if you'd like, I can send you the Bug Report...maybe you can fix it? I would love this app if it worked again...just bought it yesterday and today there's no joy. Looks like fake application - This app won't open a single .srt file no matter what. It surely is the worst app I've ever purchased in AppStore.

Doesn't actually create .srt files... - False advertising. This app doesn't create or open .srt files… not sure why the maker would put that in the description? It's also one of the least intuitive apps I've ever used, let alone purchased… This creates a .txt file that is in .srt format, and it does make that a little easier. Hoping that an update to include .srt functionality is in the works.
Sooo Close - Anyoone who has added CC's to any vid file has probably come close to tearing their own eyes out. This promised to make it easier. Too bad that the interface is not intuitive, there is NO support or documentation, not even on their website, and all editing is destructive. Meaning if you miss a cue, you're done. VERY FRUSTRATING on files that are longer than, say, 30 seconds. Basically, we could've been friends even at much more than the cost, bus as it it, I would've done better lighting a cigar with my $2.00.
Very promising but not production ready - Clearly one of the previous reviewer didn't understand what this app is for. It won't OPEN srt files but it will create them. The problem is that it has as many bugs as it has features: 1) Minor bug: The first letter of the imported text file is missing. 2) It is not clear what clicking on the right pane does. Sometimes it adds a new subtitle, sometimes it doesn't. 3) Major bug: Everything is done DESTRUCTIVELY! Miss just one of your cues and you have to redo the whole thing again. This software won't allow you to make mistakes because correcting them is impossible. 4) In relation to #3, when you mess up, all your right pane text is deleted so you can't rewind the video and try again so in order to get the text in the box again you will need to re-load the text file. When you attempt to do this it will reload the text twice and sometimes three times. A very nice concept but this is not even alpha stage software. I'll change my review if this ever gets polished up to a working version because I think it has great potential!
