All your beloved recipes in one beautifully crafted place.
With Recipes you can store unlimited recipes in unlimited groups.
You can search thru all recipes and for any content
- no matter if it is an ingredient, the kind of recipe or your notes.
Recipes also remembers your last searches
- thus all your recipes (e.g.) containing noodles are just one simple click away.
With just one click you can also directly and easily:
· print out the current recipe
· print out the complete group
· print out the complete library of all your recipes
· share your recipes by email
· share your recipes on Twitter
· share your recipes on Facebook
· publish them, so that everyone can see, use, download and share them
· publish them, to access them from any mobile device - regardless of kind and system
· import recipes from other Apps like MacGourmet, YummySoup or Paprika
Of course, sharing and printing is nice - but in the end it is all about cooking.
Thus recipes has a built in fullscreen cook view and is completely operable by gestures…
Because Recipes is already iCloud enabled
- you can access your recipes from any Mac, everywhere, anytime.
Yes, that's why I am already finishing up the iPad companion App.
Of course, an iPhone version will also follow…
MAJOR UPDATE AND COMPLETELY REWRITTEN
Gorgeous new library/gallery view
Completely operable by gestures
Import from other Apps like MacGourmet, YummySoup or Paprika
Search thru complete library
Print out single recipes, the current group or even the whole library
Improved print outs
Easily share recipes on Facebook, Twitter, the Internet or by email
Publish recipes, to access them from any mobile device - regardless of kind and system
NEW: iCloud Support
(iPad and iPhone companion Apps already in the works)
NEW: 10.7 only
(sorry, but it is a sandboxed and ARC, 64-Bit enabled App now, thus using a NAS, the Dropbox, own Sync Service etc. does not work anymore and iCloud is available under 10.7 only)

Excellent App! - First, I don't know what the reviewer is referring to when they say you can't add a recipe without creating a new Group - of course you can! You just need to hit the plus sign under recipes within a group rather than the plus sign under groups. I find this app's very simplicity to be its major advantage. Adding and editing both groups and recipes is super simple. Recipes easily accepts cut and pasted content so I can find a recipe online, cut the ingredients, paste it to Recipes, cut the directions, etc. Then I can actually go back and edit what I have just pasted into Recipes - something I cannot do with Evernote. I also love that I can take a picture of my own food or copy the picture from the web and easily import it into this database. In many cases, it really helps to see what something should look like before you start cooking. I love the "Notes" section where you can put any little annotations or even copy and past entire sections, such as recipe reviewer's comments, into the recipe. I really don't see a need for tags as you can put in any ingredient into the search box and it will immediately find the recipe(s) containing the ingredient. Once again - beautiful simplicity. The only enhancement I would like is a sister app for the iPad so I could use the recipes more easily while actually cooking. With Recipes only residing on my Mac, I have to print out each recipe in order to utilize them in my kitchen. Of course, I realize, that is a totally different operating system so is much more easily said than done. But it would be wonderful!
Recipes Disappeared!!! - I loved this app! I found it easy to use and so pretty. I could add recipes and use them with no problem. I had about 30 recipes I had manually imput into the app when all of a sudden I opened the app one day to cook and all my recipes were gone! EVERYTHING DISAPPEARED!!! ALL MY WORK AND RECIPES WERE GONE! ALL THAT TIME WASTED! Now I'm hesitant to waste my time again and give it another try. The sad part was that I really did like it. :( If it were up and running, I would have written a glowing review with a suggestion that it could use some organization features as mentioned in another review.

Hurry with the ipad version - I love this app so far. It has been able to do everything that I want. So far, I'm emailing myself a recipe and then retrieving it on my iPad in the kitchen because my computer is not in the kitchen. I am very anxious for the ipad version….please hurry! I would like to travel with my recipes. It would be awesome if the app can be icloud compatible!
Good but missing some organizational aspects. - Love the interface. Easy to use and looks good. But I wish there were a way to add tags to my recipes so I can sort them by season, ingredient, etc., without cluttering up the side bar.
The name belies reality - Recipes is definitely the least user friendly recipe manager I've ever had the dubious pleasure of experiencing. For some reason you can't add a recipe without creating a group first? There is almost no feedback to the program (why can't I add a recipe - I had no idea!) I really like the idea of a stripped down recipe app, but it needs some reworking and someone, ANYONE, competent at UI/UX. Even though I picked this up as part of $2 Tuesday, I regret the purchase.
Just What I Was Looking For - This app is great. I was looking for a place to compile all of my recipes and this is perfect. They can be separated into groups of your own making and this app also has a kitchen view. Great app.
Recipes repalced myRecipes! MyRecipes disappeared from my computer. - MyRecipes kept track of all my recipes and suddenly it disappeared on my computer compelling me to download the new version of the program. I wrote to the app creator telling him the program disappeared along with all my recipes. He sent me an incomprehensible message basically dissing meand my question. Ultimately I bit the bullet and purchased the new program. Unfortunately ince Recipe was installed I have been unable to open it without the program crashing. My hope is that downloading it again will fix the problem. I am also hoping that if and when it does open properly it will locate all those reciepes I input into the previous program. I will follow up when I remove the Recipe program from my computer and reinstall it. Ok it is now 2013. I have reinstalled the program. None of the original recipes can be imported into the program. His Support page gives no hint of how one might accomplish this task. In fact the website states under Tips and Tricks: "I am sorry - but I simply didn't had the time yet to write this tips and tricks section…" I plan to uninstall the program again. Too worried that something else will disappear from my computer. Good luck all.
