File Management Fun - On first starting the application, it arranged my most recent documents in a dozen columns on the surface. I wasn't interested in all the selected files but soon noticed i could easily hide files, folders, or whole columns. I hid what wasn't relevant, re-arranged some of the columns, and quickly had my documents laid out in a convenient manner. I like to color-code some of my more important folders with labels. It's amazing how much more useful labels are with Raskin as folder backgrounds are also colored and easily distinguishable from afar. Another detail I like is that file sizes are visible when zooming in without having to select the file first. Folders always display the cumulated size of their contents. The design of the application is pretty clean but also has some playful touches. The hand-drawn instructions on the left side illustrating how to zoom and pan around the surface made me smile. So far, I'm very pleased with Raskin. It gives me a great overview of my relevant documents and lets me navigate by flying over my document set instead of the traditional way of clicking through the folder hierarchy. Making use of color labels, it's easy to find what I'm looking for without actually searching.

Not Nearly Enough Settings - Or customizations. My big peev is that “natural scrolling” which I hate and turn off on my Macs but can’t do it here. This really stops me from using the app and makes me think the devs have assumed yet another dictatorial role in decidng what my comp can and cant do. Also the limited colors and boring blue folder icons make this program look like something for XP days on another platform. In the year 2015 I can’t have any wallpaper, custom icons, translucency or opacity options??? Even a nice Aero look from Vista or 7 would be welcome, as it is, this program is depressing and makes my content look depressing.

Very good and useful - This is a lot of fun. A visual method of organizing your digital life. Makes it easy to move files into useful places instead of a big pile in the download folder like I used to have them. Well worth the money.

Great app! Well worth the money - This is a brilliant app and is a great way to explore huge projects and files visually. Hands-down one of the best apps on my machine along with Scapple, Alfred, Coda and Mog.

Very expensive for something that doesn’t work as advertised - 1. App store lets you purchase and install on Yosemite. Doesn’t work. Website says only works in 10.10.x. 2. Beta version has extremely limited ability to organize/arrange. You get to use their automatic arrangements or go home. Videos and screenshots on website show one thing but you can’t do it on running software. 1.8.4 was released in 2013. That’s >2 years ago. No updates since. Current beta was released in 2014. That’s >1 year ago. No updates since. There doesn’t seem to be much activity for updates/bugfixes/etc. I’m working on getting my money back.
