Great Web developing app and very expandable - I read the comments and respect everyones view though I must defer with several that state it is disapointing or difficult to learn. I downloaded several demos of the big favorites for OSX through their respective websites and found out that Rapidweaver is by far the best one available (my personal opinion). It is incredibly expandable with several addons including Stacks 2 which expands even further with many developers writing downloadable stacks for it. If you don't like the themes included then you can obtain professional looking themes from other developers online. I personally did not like the themes included so I got a NickCatesDesign Theme and purchased more stacks which included in my own pages to create a truly professional web site. And unlike iWeb, it allows for true HTML coding which is pretty awesome. As far as learning it, at the beginning it does seem like very hard to understand how the how darn thing works but once you get it (took me a weekend because I think I'm slow…) it really turns out to be a great developing tool. Once you get Rapidweaver click on Addons and it'll take you to their website where you can get more Themes, Plugins and Stacks add-ons. I suggest getting Stacks, Blocks (which gives you a iWeb style of composing your page) and get some stacks addons from the big list they have.

Not a stand alone app - Update to my review: May 9th, 2014. I am moving from RapidWeaver to wordpress. As I mention before, RW is not a stand alone app, you need to buy $100+ of addon's to make a site worth anything. I've moved all but one site over to wordpress, and I am very happy I did. * * * * * * Updating my review after over a year of use. 1: There's a memory leak that they know about but don't seem to care to fix, so be ready to re-launch this app every hour or so. 2: This is NOT a stand alone app. To build a site, you really need templates and add on's that do not come with this app. This app does come with some templates, but they are not very good. Templates are $25 - 40 each for good ones, and add on's are $5 + depending on your needs. 3: The first thing you'll want to get is an add on called Stacks, as without stacks, this app is worthless.

Very Friendly - Love this software. Very easy to use, lots of assistance and a great working community that always pitches in should you find yourself in a unique situation. Nothing is perfect in this world but with anything else, support is key and they have lots of it. And it seems there are new themes and add-ons weekly if not daily.

Danger!!! 5.3.2 is NOT CURRENT - Not 10.10 compatible!! - Short: Rapidweaver is up to version 6, which works on Yosemite. The one on the App Store is 5.3.2, which does not laucnh on Yosemite. If you really want it, you have to buy it from the RealMac store. Long: hi everyone I’ve been using Rapidweaver since 2007, and while I know it has problems, it has worked for me and I am comfortable with it. I needed to redo my website and realized that the version I had, 5.4 or something, would not launch on Yosemite. So, I downloaded RapidWeaver 6 from the RealMac site and then found it was impossible for me to import my old site into the new format, because I had to export it from the version I had, which supposedly had an “Export to RW6” feature (not a good sign). That didn’t work. I tried and I tried, but export function didn’t do anything—it wasn’t even saving files to the folder, it just did..nothing. "Okay, fine. Maybe this is a good time to throw it all out and start over, a new start for a new year,” I thought, so went about gathering all my assets for the site (which is basically a showpiece site for my acting work), and started to make a new one, with a new theme and everything. Very quickly, I hit the 3 page limit in the demo, so I decided to follow the directions and download RapidWeaver from the App Store. I did so, on the US store, because I live in LA. And what I got was NOT RapidWeaver 6…it’s 5.3.2. And now…I am back to where I started! I have written the company and am waiting to hear back, but if you are using Yosemite, DO NOT DOWNLOAD. It won’t launch and you will be out $80. good luck.

Absolutely Amazing - I have been using Rapid Weaver for my business for 5 years. The intuitive, clean, consise interface might seem a little doubtful at first, but once you dig in you won’t believe how easy it is to use, update, add plugins, etc. I have tried other but when updating my sight with the other brands i lost text, fonts, spacing etc. Rapid Weaver is a template driven site. So when you purchase plugins, site themes, etc. you wont loose anything. I am amazed at the huge community that makes themes, extensions, and plugins for Rapid Weaver. Brandon Lee designs are just too amazing to pass up. Rapid Weaver is a low cost, easy to manage, rapid web development application. Everything else just seems kind of weak. The price is great, definitely for the quality you get. I dont know why there are so many negative reviews, but take my word for it, once you use this you will be dissappointed if you use anything else.

fails to open previous project files from version 4 - after being forced to pay full price of $80 because licensing of my version 4 is not given in the program and they have lost my record, I find out on the version 4 project files will not open at all in version 5.3.2 so I basically wasted my money and am stuck keeping my old computer around just to run version 4. What a bunch of bozos this company is. And no the files are not corrupted. They open and work just fine in version 4. I can edit the website with latest version 4 and save the file and then it always fails to load in version 5. AVOID this program! Use something else.

Looking for something better :( - After spending hours updating my site, and saving through every single step, Rapidweaver has ONCE AGAIN failed to save. When I Saved, Closed, and Relaunched, all my work was gone. This is the second time since owning this sofware this has happened. I’m now looking for a replacement…sadness...
