A great step in the right direction! - While this release doesn’t include everything, it is great to be able to track income and expenses again effortlessly with automatic downloads from my bank and credit card accounts, and a lot of help categorizing and tagging. It is quick and stable, and has a very pleasing interface. I hope they keep true to promises and continue to advance the product toward parity with its Windows counterpart. But I’d still opt for a Mac and this product than the alternative!
I REALLY wanted this to work for me…. - I tried. I mean I REALLY tried to get this going. I’ve been a Quicken for Mac user for at least 15 years so I’ve been carrying around a lot of important data. The import from Quicken 2007 for Mac Lion Edition seems to go all right. All of the data seemed to carry over. When I attempted to explore the mobile sync capabilities, the trouble began. SQL database corruption in my file seems to be caused by trying to sync to the Quicken cloud. The application quits before I can get the chance to reset the cloud. I revert to backups, but the backups are quickly corrupted in the same manner. Working through issues like this wouldn’t be so bad if there was: 1. a manual, 2. phone support. I tried to use their chat service, but I was cut off after meaningless troubleshooting for 40 minutes. To start again would mean starting over from scratch. I’m not sure where to go from here. A refund may be my best bet….
More Reviews for Current Version
The latest update blew up my accounts. - First, I never write reviews but this update is so bad I have lost faith. I have been a QUICKEN user it seems like forever. On Microsoft platform and Apple platform now for several years. Unfortunate for me the I trusted that this update was ready for customer accounts. The app stopped updating over the weekend for some accounts then started working again today. When the update completed, it had turned on sharing to the cloud which I have had turned off, then it redownloaded most prior transactions from all accounts. Now I have to manually correct all mistakes. Sounds like maybe I forgot to turn on backup, well, since installation the auto backup was configured to on. I went to retrieve a backup and catch up from there and now find no backups exist since mid 2014. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET AT THE HOURS THAT THIS WILL COST ME TO FIX. Then I must go evaluate replacement software.
Program now unusable after Update - This program has gone from problematic and unstable, unusable. At least in the past, painful though it was, after trouble shooting and trying things, you could get it to do most of what they promise you it will do, but the 2.6.2 update has made it so that it crashs everytime I try to update my accounts… This is, of course, not what you want from a $75 application. While I used to love Quicken, and Quicken Online, it seems they have decided they aren’t worried about Mac Users’ business.
improvement???????? - I was more or less happy with the app until you made the latest update. Now I can’t connect and download transactions. I use 4 diferent files to keep track, of my accounts, my mother’s accounts, my mother-in-laws accounts and our charitable organizations accounts. The update has caused me to have issues as when I try to update all online accounts it keeps looking for me to sync with the mobile app for all 4 files. I have the mocile app sync turned off, but it keeps asking me to switch the app sync. Why arent these changes tested before being forced upon the consumer?????
Latest update - This update is very buggy. I can no longer download most of my accounts. I know the data is at the bank/credit card site, but I keep getting “retry”. Don’t they beta test these releases?
Another bad update from Quicken - I guess I should be used to the incredible bad software these guys put out since this happens every time they make an update. This latest automatic update to version 2.6.2 broke all my online capabilities and added a bunch of rediculous notices and email alerts that have no basis in reality. To top it all off, when you try to get support, it is completely unavailable.
