Wow! - This is so much better - faster, easy with a bunch of cool tools (Quickview in my tool bar!). The improvements in the key strokes really has saved me time.
More garbage from Intuit - I find it very irritating that quickbooks advertises their app as a “quickbooks” app yet it doesn’t work with the primary quickbooks products. Only in a small area at the end of their advert does it mention that it doesn’t work with quickbooks for windows or quickbooks for mac. Of course they will feign innocence. Why can they not just list it as Quickbooks Online so I didn’t have to waste my time with it. For the record, their online product is horrible. In order to work with an account register, one has to view a screen at a time which I feel is an absolute fatal flaw. One can’t rapidly scroll through any register. A paper ledger and a pencil is faster.

Surprisingly awesome customer service! - I had to upgrade my subscription to the Plus version because I didn’t realize you couldn’t file your venders as a 1099 with the version that I previously had. In the process I had accidentally made an entirely separate subscription and was charged double. I called their customer service and they had cancelled the other subscription I had made and dropped my upgraded subscription to a cheaper price than what I was previously paying. The only downside was that it took about 30 minutes over the phone but I’m willing to look past that. Everyone I spoke to over the phone was friendly and totally receptive to my issues and resolved them. I’m very happy with this product and app. But at the same time I am a first time small business owner who runs a videography business so what do I know.
Does not work - don’t waste your time - This is one of the worst, poorly-maintained apps in this App Store. Hardly anything works correctly. Click on things and nothing happens… Don’t waste your time...
Could be much better - This “application” is basically just a specialized web browser pointing only to Intuit QuickBooks Online service. It would have been much better if it was the real desktop application put into the App Store. Software for subscription is what is ruining the industry.
Has a ton of bugs! - I hate to be negative, but this app has had so many bugs that it really makes working with it painful. When everything is working I really don’t have any complaints. I had hoped that by now Quickbooks would have their problems figured out, but until they do, I’m leaving a negative review.
Nice Features but full of bugs and extremely slow - I have used the Mac app and web browser based version for nearly 2 years now and both perform about the same. For whatever reason the app crashes at least once a day. Also, some tasks can be done at lightining speed while other basic tasks, such as search for a customer are extremely slow. Even receiving a payment to apply to an invoice from a customer profile is pain stakingly slow process. Interestingly enough we used a 3rd party software to apply and invoice most of our jobs and it is much faster than actually using the browser based version or app version of QBO itself. Also, minor basic things drop down menus are constantly having issues. Certain drop down search menus won’t let you click them and you have to scroll though the lists and hit enter. It sounds like a minor issue but if you’re doing alot of transactions per day it is quite frustrating. Another positive point is there is a ton of 3rd party apps that work with the program. This is basically the only reason we have stuck with it so far. Another big bug is with ACH transactions if you are using Quickbooks merchant center. When payments are rejected it claims it voids the payment “so your books are correct” but it really doesn’t. In fact they create a bulk deposit that has to be matched with the payment (therefore the payment can not be voided). Then it charges back the amount (plus a fee) and doesn’t really give you any type of identification about where the charge back is coming from. This requires another time consuming process to match things up and typically requires a journal entry because QBO does not allow negative deposits and will not match positive transaction (For example $80 payment - $10 chargeback) with negative transactions. Finally, I’ve seen some reviews about the support but I’ve got to say I’ve been really disappointed. While the reps are all nice almost none of them seem to know anything about the program itself. Going back to when we originally made the switch and a rep told me it was “not possible” to move our customer database from QB desktop to QBO (obviously it was since we did it). I’ve also had reps tell me things that I was seeing were not possible and I had to do screen shares with them that usually result in an answer of “I didn’t realize it did that”.
