Description:

You're in the embroidery business. You have a Mac. Why on earth should you be forced to use a PC just because most embroidery software has failed to catch up? Now you can visualize a wide variety of different kinds of stitch files on your Mac, show them to prospective clients, and even generate detailed reports. Now you have a professional, affordable tool at your disposal. With PowerPunch, you can put your best face forward, and leave the PC at home next to the embroidery machine.

Main Features;

• Find/Browse stitch files - 19 different formats.
• Assign threads/colors - you can even import common thread chart formats.
• On-screen grid and measurement tool - simple but powerful and accurate.
• Animated stitch view - watch your design stitch out with unlimited zoom and variable speed.
• Statistics view - see stitch counts, dimensions, stitch-time estimates, etc…
• Print/Email PDF reports and catalogs - send design specifications and previews to clients!

PowerPunch can display the following stitch file formats;

Brother PES
Brother PEC

Tajima Thread Database (TDB)
Wilcom Thread Chart (TCH)

You can download these types of files for different thread manufacturers from many online sources, or if you have purchased Tajima or Wilcom software, you can directly import files you already have.

PowerPunch can also read thread colors from Embird RGB files, and Buzz Tools COL files if these are included with your designs.

(*Note that KSM support is provisional at this point. It works, but is not without a few kinks. These will be addressed in a coming update. )

Love this App! - I'm a MAC nut and I was getting very frustrated because all I could see on my MAC was files names. I couldn't see my designs until I loaded them onto my machine. It was a huge waste of time. This little $12.99 App not only lets you see the design but provides measurements, a simulation of the stitch out and a full report of the design listing the size, stitch count, estimate of time to stitch. If you are a MAC user and love embroidering and don't want to spend a ton of money on another program, go for Power Punch! Monica P

Not happy. - The app keeps crashing over and over agin. I dont even understand how you keep all the files listed so you can keep going back to them time and time again. This is a waste of money. Also, their support system isn't working.

Does not view all file formats - this doesn’t view any of the formats I have for my viking machine.

Good for the price - Does a good job visualizing the designs. I’ve only tried it with PES designs at this point. The printout it generates is not a 100% scale size useful for placement.

Waste of money and time - It’s not an automatic file viewer. You have to drag each file you want to see into the viewing area. You can’t just look at your files in the folder where they live. I wish I could get my money back!!!!!

Love this app - It makes it so easy to see all the designs that I have in a folder (and I have thousands). This app shows you the stitching order by color which I use just about every time I stitch out a design, I love being able to see what each step in the design does and skip a step if I want to, or skip around in the design if I'm going to be using the same color thread. I also love being able to right click on a picture and have it reveal in finder, makes it easy to find your design files if their names aren't too descriptive. Runs great on my iMac running 10.8.2, I'd have a much harder time sewing without it.
