#1 Mac Mouse Utility! Excellent Support since 2001 - PinPoint displays an animated graphic around your pointer. It can help locate the pointer on your screen or multiple screens. It is also a great way to enhance your pointer with fun animated graphics!
IMPORTANT - When PinPoint is launched, no icon is displayed in the Dock. You control it via the menu it adds in your menu bar.

Essential for any scientist! - I adore PinPoint. I only use one functionality: the full-screen crosshairs. I have it set to toggle on and off with a single key-stroke. Any time I am looking at a plot (which I do ~100x a day), I have a really easy way to read off values for the data points. I’ve been using PinPoint for about 8 years (long before there was an “App Store”) and, at this point, it is an essential piece of functionality that I require for my day-to-day work. I wouldn’t want to live without it. $5 may seem pricey for that one functionality, but it’s like the perfect pair of jeans: might seem expensive when you buy it, but you get more use out of it than all the rest of your App/wardrobe put together.
Sometimes PinPoint just vanishes - 3.7.12 — Sometimes (often) the PinPoint effect just disappears and stops working. Can’t tell when or why. And then, without any apparent change, it will start working again. Weird.

TOGGLE WORKS JUST ONCE UNTIL SETTINGS USED - The pinpoint around the mouse defaults to ON and toggles OFF. After that, it will not toggle ON. If one goes to its settings and simply chooses “Always ON” (which it was anyhow) then the toggle will work. This is still the case after the last update. And true after 3.7.12.
Amazing App - It really is a simple but very useful application. Excellent, simple, but very professional, thanks
Awesome app! - One problem with the OS X user interface, which is especially pronounced if you have a 27" iMac, is that the screen elements are too small. In particular, the pointer. Sure, you can expand the size of the pointer in System Preferences. But, before Lion, it was pixelated and ugly. In Lion, they finally fixed it to make it a high-resolution image. But there's still a major problem: a large pointer will often block elements of the user interface -- especially those pop-up bubbles that tell you what an icon does. It's reallly annoying. Pinpoint takes care of all that. It allows you to use the tiny pointer while still being able to see where you are. I've become fond of the large arrow option. It allows you to have a large, semi-transparent arrow extend from your small pointer. Now, I can still see where my pointer is, but it's not blocking anything from view! Awesome! UPDATE: I’ve been using this app for years, and it’s still awesome! But it hasn’t been updated in a while. I hope it doesn’t die off ...
