Best that I have used. - I have tried several of the other big names in movie cataloging software. My Movies has the best all around features for me. Very stable with my large collection. It has an iPad app as well and the two stay perfectly in sync with each other. My Movies catalog had all but two titles in my collection and the ones they did not have I was able to contribute to the database. One thing I would like to see added is better support for TV show episode data. I would highly recommend this app.
useless between devices - I like this app but If you are planning to use this app between multiple devices such as a Mac Laptop and an iPhone5, … forget it. There is NO… NO user-friendly method to acquire, import, or transfer your exhisting movie data from your MyMoviePro account webpage to an iPhone. I say this as my attempt to syncronize my existing account data with my iPhone5 was a complete bust. All I got was an (obviously incorrect) message stating that my account was already sync'd… The only way around this is to manually enter/scan each and every movie title in to my iPhone. ...No thank you.

Not Ready for release - I would never have spent $19.99 for the desktop app knowing that it is so severely limited. These limitations should have been listed in the description. "The Mac OS X app is in a version 1, which supports only the disc title profile types, where the “Movie” and “TV Series” profile types are new for My Movies 2 on iOS. These profile types will not sync to the Mac until that also receives a version 2 upgrade."
Really nice video cataloger - We finally decided to catalog all of our videos — not that we own that many, but we were starting to loose track, etc. I started from scratch and fooled around till it all worked. Pretty simple, once you get the routine. I didn’t try to do the bar code because I don’t have a camera hooked to the MacMini. However, entering the barcode numbers works pretty well. Occasionally the bar code numbers didn’t play, but going back and selecting another country (instead of USA) does the job. Occasionally I’ve had to enter titles. That’s a little harder. Fortunately, when the software gives me several choices it also shows me the cover art, so it’s pretty easy to get the right item cataloged. I’ve used the software for ony a couple of weeks, but so far it’s outstanding for what we need.
It’s okay - But I really hate that it takes so long for some movies to show up in the pre-release section. There’s a lot of movies that I’ve pre-ordered or know that I would like to buy, and I would like to have them in my collection, but I have to wait. For example, there is only the 3D version of Moana, and that’s coming out in just a few days. Why isn’t the regular Blu-ray available to put in my ordered section? There are also times the movie is actually out, yet not yet in the system. I had to go through the motions of adding one of the steelbook versions of Doctor Strange, to include getting a picture of the front and back of the case, only to get a message saying that it was already in the system and awaiting a moderator to look at it. If that is the case, why did I have to add it, why did I not get a message that stated it would be in the system soon?
Love it. - I broke down and upgraded to full version on Mac. Bought full version on iPhone and was able to sync across the devices, while only being able to manipulate the 50 most recent titles on the mac. I was having issues with it constantly wanting to sync and rarely letting me add more than 1 title before interrupting me with some pop up or another. After upgrading to full version, I no longer have those issues as of now. Also, ALL my titles sync flawlessly now between the devices (immediately) and the sync doesn’t take as long. While I do not agree with having to pay for multiple devices, it is a spectacular app that I have been looking for for a long time and finally found. It is much easier to enter things on a computer and have the phone as reference when I’m out and about. I am satisfied with my purchases, as long as it doesn’t start hiccuping on me again with the sync/time ran out messages.
My Movies Pro - UPDATE: I’ve been using this app for several years now and have followed it through the various updates and upgrades. It continues to be a terrific app that does exactly what it claims to do, keep track of my movies. I have recently started using it to track movies that are coming out (pre-release) that I might want to purchase. The data for this function is cloud-sourced and doesn’t apparently come from the releasing Studios, but I’ve only had one minor hiccup with a title not showing up in a relatively timely manner. My original review below is still pretty valid, and I recommend this app for anyone with a substantial collection This is a great little program that keeps track of all your movies. I use it to avoid duplication when shopping for new titles, as well as keeping track of loaned discs. Coordination with the iPhone app is seamless, and the interface is simple and effective. The only drawback was a less than effective import function, but the search/add function was more than robust enough to overcome that with littile inconvenience.
