Great app - does what it says - I am changing my review to 5 stars, because I realized that this DOES work on mkv, fly files etc. My problem before was that I hadn't installed a plugin (like Perian QT Plugin for many media types - on the MacUpdate website) so that QuickTime can handle those file types. After I installed Perian, now this Movie Thumbnails app works perfectly for all the files I have. I am using OS X Lion 10.7.3

does not work for me!!!!!! - there is no need for thumbnails for mov, mpeg, quiktime and others because it automaticly its added. THIS DOES NOT WORK for AVCHD sony hd movies. if the free version does not work, what makes you think i will pay $ any thing for a full version. your support does not explain any thing. apple should test apps before putting for sale in apps store.

Works as advertised! - Program is a great demo for the paid version. Thumbnails limited to 24 images in demo along with random display of "Made with Movie Thumbnails Free" in thumbnail collage (see screenshot). Application has been able to handle most video formats I've thrown at it, so far, including the usual mp4, mov, flv, avi, mkv and with Flip4Mac installed wmv. YMMV. Some videos of the same length are processed fast than others. WMV videos must be pre-cached before playback via QuickTime so are processed at a slower pace.

Nice, but does not register EMBEDDED timecode - Note that the app assumes a video starts at 00:00:00, thus if you are inputting a file with embedded timecode (as an editor or special-effects person might) this is probably not the choice for you. Other than that, this app is very efficient. A few more formatting options would be nice.

Simple, easy to use, works great! - This is a great little app - simple to use, works really well and it’s free. What more could you ask for? There is a watermark every 5 or so thumbnails but, again, it’s free. $4 for the full version is worth every penny, even if all it did was remove the watermark.
